They could change their rules to allow him to be their champion longer. It seems that they can do whatever they want. Alvarez is the WBO junior middleweight champion and Ring middleweight champion.

all three are paper chumps who have never beat a real champion in the ring and never will parker joshua and wilder would all fall to the gypsy king no man born of woman can beat him he could walk in off the street at 360 lbs and KO all on the same night he would not even need to train

Is Tyson Fury still Ring Magazine Champion? He vacated all titles but the Ring Mag. still got him as Champion in their Ratings!
What's going on? I know he remains Lineal Champ as long as he is not beaten in the ring or retires but what about the Ring Mag title?
Answers are welcome! Thanks a lot!!
It would take seconds to ascertain whether Tyson Fury is the Ring's champion at heavyweight.

In terms of the reasons why, their rules have been clearly articulated and Fury still meets some of their criteria.

Thanks Steve O,
that makes it more clear.
He remains lineal champ cause he didnt lose the title in the ring, he vacated the WBA & WBO titles, but you can't vacate the lineal title as long as you not retire.

I found another interesting article, which says Fury is the former lineal champion:

what do you think?

There is supposed to be a time limit to fight as a Ring Magazine champion. I'm assuming it's 18 months from the comments, but I haven't read Ring's rules in a while. I know they changed their rules to being more lenient as to what contenders can fight for it such as No. 4 and No. 5 in the Ring ratings in a division whereas it used to be No. 1 vs. No. 2 or 3.

According to the article in the link, it says the former lineal champion, that's the main question.
He's still Ring Mag champion, no doubt about that.

It is confusing, according to different sources, the question remains who defines who's the lineal champion, I always relied on cyberboxingscence but that one isn't clear either.

When they release the next rankings as per their rules he won't be.

One of the situations a champion loses the belt is if he does not schedule a fight for 18 months.

The clearest one is the transnational lineal title. As of today Fury is still the Ring champion despite retiring twice, not fighting at his weight in 18 months, and not fighting at any weight in 18 months.

Why assume? Why not read them, since there's not much text to review?

Read The Ring's rules and then count the amount of times his proposed rematch against Klitschko fell through, coupled with the dates that they occurred.

Fûckîng hell! It's not rocket science. The RING's rules clearly explain their justification for retaining Fury as their champ.

Anything that would still list Tyson Fury as Champion at this point isn't worth taking seriously. Tyson Fury is Champion of nothing.

Fury announced yesterday or early today that he's still in training, and expected to return to the ring... So whoever his comeback opponent is, expect it to be a top fifteen guy or so.

You still buy that kinda talk from that fat coke monkey?

If he does come back anytime soon, it'll be against somebody that's not even in the Top 20 I'm sure. If he faces a Top 10 or 15 opponent. Good chance he loses.

He was never particularly good in the first place, and a few years of playing Hungry, Hungry Hippos and coking it up damn sure ain't helping anything.

NEVER GOOD?

Damn the hate runs deep within.

Rewatch that second Chisora fight. Was like an amateur versus a champion. Nothing but jabs and made Chisora quit. Sounds like to me your hate for Fury has no substance, and must be racist.

Sure I am pissed too that he got on Coke and took this hiatus, but to deny the man's wins and skills? That's asinine.

I said never particularly good. I didn't say never good. He's skilled, and he's able to box reasonably well. He has very little power for a man of his size. How can I be racist against Tyson Fury? I'm of Irish descent and have the same skin color as him.

I do however think that he's a complete piece of sh*t and I have very little respect for him as a fighter or as a man.

Why would I rewatch the Chisora fight? It was boring as sh*t. I saw it the first time. He gave "Loser to the Stars" a real boxing lesson. It would be impressive if he was doing it to a fighter that was worth a damn, but it was "Loser to the Stars" Chisora we're talking about.

Other big name fighters beat Chisora comfortably the 1st time they fought him. Fury needed to fight him twice to have an impressive performance.

And as for the "Your hate for Fury has no substance" line. Here's why I hate Fury. He won the Heavyweight Championship of the World. A title with a very rich historical significance. Instead of defending it with honor he became a fat tub of sh*t and did a lot of cocaine, all the while continuing to talk sh*t as if he's somebody that matters to the sport.

He's an annoying prick in press conferences, and post fight interviews, and his opinions regarding issues about Women, Homosexuals, and other sh*t let's me know what a complete piece of garbage he is.

I wouldn't even shake the sorry bastards hand if I met him, and the list of Boxers I think so little of that I wouldn't even shake their hand is a short one.

Ahhh... You're a Clinton or Sanders voter then.

Makes sense to me now. I personally could care less about fighters outside the ring. They're athletes, not politicians. I don't expect morals and values and ethics from guys who get punched every day in the head since they were children. Truth be told, I think you would be absolutely shocked if you knew 1/3rd of the crap these athletes do or say, regardless of sport.

As for not defending the title, I've seen greater tragedies in boxing than that. What's worse, in my view, is someone retiring officially and using "emeritus" several years later when they haven't done a damn thing to warrant a shot. Other crap that drives me insane is how a champion wins the best fight of their life... And the organizations play politics and steal away what's rightfully theirs and spoon feed it to some undeserving musclehead and proclaim that idiot champion... Seems too commonplace in boxing these days... And people like you see nothing wrong with it.

Why? Because the guy offends you? Grow up.
