canelo - GGG, who?
Re: canelo - GGG, who?
canelo is seasoned and settled in, can
take a punch, is durable and tactically
quite good. it will be the hardest fight
of his career for GGG. he will have to
dig deep.
for me it is a tossup. but it won't be
boring, that seems a given. i am happy
that big fights can be made, like AJ-wlad
earlier this year and now this one.

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
I'll going Golovkin without an certainty his power is an obvious bonus but both seem to have iron chins so it could be more of a boxing match than it might first appears with canelo the natural counter puncher but Golovkin has good Eastern European boxing ability with great feet and he may work the jab a lot especially at first.two things bother me about canelo first his work rate is pretty low and second how much damage did Floyd do mentally to him he looked ready to quit at one point in that fight if GGG comes out fast and hurts canelo will he have to balls to get off the floor and really go for it .or will canelo hurt GGG to the body we'll have to wait and see

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
Can somebody please explain what Golovkin and Canelo were competing at here? What does "knock each other's block off" mean ?

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
I had that, but it was old news when I got my Ali/Norton trigger fighters with the ring.
Re: canelo - GGG, who?
Past resume aside, recent resume is what counts and GGG has it. Canelo has not had the same warm up to this fight as GGG.
If you were to ask, who has been in the ring with challenging opponents lately it isn't Canelo. He was out boxed by Khan, Smith and the corpse of Charvez Jr didn't really test him. And that is it for the last 2 years.
GGG has faced Murray, Monroe Jr, Lemieux , Brook and Jacobs.
So coming into this fight I would have to say GGG is the one who is match fit.

regarding floyd: canelo aged, maturedpaddy chavez wrote:I'll going Golovkin without an certainty his power is an obvious bonus but both seem to have iron chins so it could be more of a boxing match than it might first appears with canelo the natural counter puncher but Golovkin has good Eastern European boxing ability with great feet and he may work the jab a lot especially at first.two things bother me about canelo first his work rate is pretty low and second how much damage did Floyd do mentally to him he looked ready to quit at one point in that fight if GGG comes out fast and hurts canelo will he have to balls to get off the floor and really go for it .or will canelo hurt GGG to the body we'll have to wait and see
and has gained confidence. he would
still not beat floyd, but he has no mental
issue from that fight IMO.

not sure if that matters that much.KiwiRider wrote:Past resume aside, recent resume is what counts and GGG has it. Canelo has not had the same warm up to this fight as GGG.

plus GGG had his issues in these
most recent bouts as well.

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
Who did GGG have issues aginst though? Jacobs, sure, but do guys like Liam Smith and dead Chavez come close to approximating a fast, 6 foot tall mover with KO power? Brook, maybe, but glass Khan won rounds against Canelo too and I think had a case for being ahead at the time of the stoppage, so it’s not really a case of Canelo looking on the upswing and GGG looking to be fading.

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
GGG knocks him out, but will be close until GGG unleashes hell.
I can't see Canelo hurting GGG.
I honestly believe Canelo and Golden Boy have been lulled into this fight.

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
I must check the betting odds, if they are good enough I would bet on GGG some 300$, I'm pretty sure of him KO'ing Canelo but the fight should be competetive until mid or late round KO.
Re: canelo - GGG, who?
GGG is 13/8 to win by stoppage in the UK. Not sure what the line is in the USA.dagilechia wrote:I must check the betting odds, if they are good enough I would bet on GGG some 300$, I'm pretty sure of him KO'ing Canelo but the fight should be competetive until mid or late round KO.
Re: canelo - GGG, who?
Canelo points. And I think a it'll be a wide points win too.
Re: canelo - GGG, who?
Canelo wins via UD . Eastern Europe style works only against bums.
Postol , Kovalev and Klitschko already showed us that elite boxers from UK or WEST will most likely beat those eastern killers.
Just different school of boxing.
Golovkin gets schooled in this one.

What about Usyk and Lomachenko then? they can only beat bums and ''western elite fighters'' like Berchelt or Bellew beat them?IronFrost wrote:Canelo wins via UD . Eastern Europe style works only against bums.

Re: canelo - GGG, who?
in my country if you bet 300$ on Golovkin by KO you win 1050$ (1350$ with that what you bet) It is good enoughSteveDow wrote:GGG is 13/8 to win by stoppage in the UK.
