His title defences were a joke and he only fought spence because he was mandatory. Used to think he was britains best kept secret/talent but it was obviously to do more with the average opposition rather than how good Brook was. No intrest in seeing him again.

I think if he'd concentrated fully on his IBF title as opposed to calling out Khan, and blowing up to challenge Golovkin, things may have been a little different. Think he needed to have given Errol Spence his undivided attention the moment Spence arrived on the scene as mandatory. As opposed to facing him as last resort after disappointment of being unable to get a Khan fight and after being damaged by Golovkin.

He should have gone ahead with the Jesse Vargas unification fight. He was potentially going to earn, just a little less than he did vs. GGG. It was a very winnable fight at Bramall Lane. He could have walked away with 2 world titles.

In all fairness you're talking out of your arse. A paper champion? Put the crack pipe down.

He beat Porter in the US, defended against some tame'ish mandatories but then moved up 2 weight classes to go up against one of the most feared fighters in the sport where he gave it a real go.

He then came back against Spence when he could have swerved that fight and just moved to 154, but he wanted to take the fight and he was beating Spence till the eye socket went.

If taking on GGG and Spence in back to back fights is considered 'protected' I'd love to see your definition of a risk taker!!

I give him credit for the porter win but it took him over 30 fights to get there when he turned down multiple world title fights before the porter fight. Then after that he fought gavin, bizier and jojo dan!! GGG was for the money he knew he was not going to win and he flat out quit against spence. His eye looked ok when he was having a good luck around the ring for a nice spot to take a knee. And anyone giving him credit for taking his mandatory needs to give there head a shake. If he moved up when his first proper mandatory was due that would have been a huge duck.

What multiple world title fights did he turn down?

He gave it a go against Golovkin and came to win, he was always unlikely to given that Golovkin is a beast and Brook was moving up two weight classes. But he showed plenty of heart against one of the most murderous punching fighters of recent times.

He retired against Spence with a broken orbital bone, its hardly shameful, especially when its considered he'd suffered the injury in the 6th round. He didn't get out the first chance, he fought on with a vile injury for several rounds and also with knowledge of the injury after having suffered the same injury to the other eye against Golovkin.

In reality he didn't need the Spence fight. After going to 160 for Golovkin the sensible move was to go to 154. Not many ever expected him to return to welter. That he boiled himself back down to take a fight he could have legitimately avoided shows he has a champions resolve and honor. Not many fighters would have gone back down to 147 in Brooks position.
