He's got a lot of fair points, seems a decent enough fella, I don't blame him for not wanting anything to do with BJS and his team.

In a time when he should be 100% on the fight, he is (and rightly so) focused on this. I feel for the fella. BJS must be laughing.TheCobra wrote:He's got a lot of fair points, seems a decent enough fella, I don't blame him for not wanting anything to do with BJS and his team.

I feel bad for Monroe - as he says, he's had to exercise a lot of self-control and act the bigger man in the face of a lot of utter bullshit from blowjobs and his mob.keithmoonhangover wrote:In a time when he should be 100% on the fight, he is (and rightly so) focused on this. Can't see how he could get anywhere suing anyone , what for , not being nice to him , looks like theve got into his head , I do beleive though that the bbbc should look into it and fine Saunders ,, best thing Monroe can do is relax , focus and win , although it won't happen ,

Monroe needs to remember he has a life changing fight ahead of him
This isn't a competition to see how many boxrecers will want to have a drink with him.
It shows to me that he doesn't fancy the job, maybe he is worried about facing GGG again.

My friend is involved with Monroe and says he fit, BJS definitely is. The best man will win.

Looking at his body it's like Mitchell for the John Murray fight where he was clearly in considerably better nick than for several previous fights. I expect we'll see a better BJS than we have for some time.
Stylewise though I think Monroe will give him some problems. I'll be interested to see who looks the quicker, I have a suspicion that while Monroe looks to be the better athlete, BJS has a more concise technique which means he will look to be equally as quick.
The more I think about it the more I think this may surprise me and be a reasonable fight. Two southpaw boxers, well that might not always a recipe for a barnburner. But stay with me. You know in MMA sometimes when you get two good wrestlers and neither of them can dominate the grappling or take it to the floor, and it turns out they just brawl as that's the only way they can differentiate themselves? Well sometimes two 'boxers' end up in a surprising all-action fight. Well I say that but off the top of my head I can't remember any, but it's been a long draining day. It's a nice theory anyway. I'm sure there's been a BOTP thread on fights that were surprisingly good in that sense.

When my brain returns i am sure I can give examples of Boxer vs Boxer turning into a surprising action fight. Just not now. So you're right at this point it's nothing but theory.

Willie is a stink out the jointer for the most part based on what I've seen, but he did show some fight after getting dropped twice by GGG. I'm hoping some of that shows up today...

He's away from home and knows pinching rounds won't do it for him on the cards?crusader wrote:Willie is a stink out the jointer from the most part based on what I've seen, but he did show some fight after getting dropped twice by GGG. I'm hoping some of that shows up today...

Not often you see 2 KDs followed by a KTFO within 50 seconds. I hope Carter is okay. Awful, awful matchmaking.
Re: Round-By-Round - Billy Joe Saunders (c) vs. Willie Monroe jr - September 16th 2017
Carter can't hold a shot at all...very predictable
Re: Round-By-Round - Billy Joe Saunders (c) vs. Willie Monroe jr - September 16th 2017
Carter looked out of his depth. I think the ref let it go on after the second knockdown because it was so early in the fight. Then Carter walked straight into another one and is on the floor having oxygen.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Neil Gee wrote:That was ridiculuos.

Served the cold dish in 45 seconds. It would be a treat to follow his development.

Odds were 3-1 on first round KO. Generous considering the chin Carter has displayed in previous fights
