Yea I do agree. ALthough I don't care too much at this stage. They faced each other. Can't really say a bad thing about Golovkin, except that Father Time has caught up to him. On the other hand Canelo...there are some critisicms you can make but I want to watch the fight again and will reserve judgement. Both tough as nails, golovkin the tougher nail though.
How has Father Time caught up to Golovkin? He fought well and deserved the win. He's still got more career ahead of him.
I'm sorry but he is not as sharp as he used to be. I never said he didnt fight well or did not deserve the win. He's slowed, its pretty clear to me. If you can't see it you can't see it.

Canelo is one of the best fighters he's ever fought. That's one of the big reasons why he appeared to struggle more than usual, he was fighting a better fighter. He still fought at a very high level.

I'm not denying that. But Golovkins doesn't look as sharp. Let's just agree to disagree like how Horn beat up Manny.

I suppose that'd be for the best.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

At least we got a good fight tonight.............not fight of the year but a very good fight. Regardless of the decision tonight, the fight was good enough that I want to see them in the ring together again.
I know this is going to come across as pissy, and trust me my intention is not to insult you but that is a strange attitude.

"Regardless of the decision" completely devalues the entire sport, and the fact you'd be willing to pay again after such a farcical card was turned in the first time is one of the major problems with boxing. There is supposed to be a winner, a legitimate winner and when that is taken away then what's the point? You can watch good scraps without a winner by going to your local gym and watching some sparring.

Until people start standing up against the idiots ruining the sport then the idiots will continue to ruin the sport. Easy money.

I agree. The fight was a good one; but what's the point in watching if Stevie Wonder is scoring it...
No need to worry about being "pissy"
I am not easily offended and I don't expect other people to agree with me.

You are assuming I paid to watch last night.
Not a safe assumption.

imo the single most important thing for boxing is good fights. The worst thing for boxing is boring, noncompetitive fights.
A great fight with a bad decision is still a great fight. A great fight followed by a bad decision usually leads to the two fighters being put in the ring with one another a second time which could result in another great fight.
People always say they'll quit boxing if they see another bad decision but they're full of crap and this fight is proof of that.
You're on boxrec, you saw the predictions, we all knew how a decision would go but we still showed up to watch. It's not like last night was the first time a judge ever had a strange scorecard.
Why did we watch?
Because most of us felt like we were going to see a good fight for however long it went.

Personally, I will take a good fight with a controversial decision over a boring fight with impeccable scorecards every single time.
Last night was a very good fight and I absolutely want to see them in the ring again.

I'd like to see GGG move up and clean out 168. I think he is having a tougher and tougher time making weight. That said, the rematch is obviously going to happen. GGG likes to stay active though and i could see him not wanting to wait until May to fight again.
