It won't offset Loma's footworkCounter-puncher wrote:It won't what?gilgamesh wrote:It won't. Lomachenko is gonna own him.Counter-puncher wrote:All true but you haven't yet seen Loma against anyone with Rigondeux's footspeed, which will go some way to offsetting Lomas aggressive footwork.

'go some way' to offsetting was the phrase I used (apparently- i had to check)gilgamesh wrote:It won't offset Loma's footworkCounter-puncher wrote:It won't what?gilgamesh wrote:

if you don't think it will offset it at all, you think Loma deals with Rigo as easily as a Martinez?
Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
I think he deals with him as easily as Walters. Or pretty close. I don't expect Rigo to win more than 2 rounds, if that.Counter-puncher wrote:

mmmm'kay indeed. Watch. It's gonna be an easy, lopsided win for Vasyl. Take it to the bank.Counter-puncher wrote:mmmmmm'kaygilgamesh wrote:I think he deals with him as easily as Walters. Or pretty close. I don't expect Rigo to win more than 2 rounds, if that.Counter-puncher wrote:

Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
just to be clear, when you say as easily as Walters you mean stopping him in 7 or whatever? or will Rigo somehow struggle his way to the final bell?
Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
In terms of style and talent there is simply no comparison between Rigo and Walter

Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
If these 2 were the same size it'd be 50/50 for me. Unfortunately just think that Rigo is too small. In reality he's far from a big Super-Bantam and he'll be stepping up to Super-Feather for this fight. Loma should be too big.
Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
Unless Rigo lands a crazy punch early on I see this as an easy win for Loma.
Rigo is/was brilliant but hasn't done too much since beating Agbeko (spelling).
He's also 37 by fight night and fought less than 3 rounds in 2 years or something.
In my eyes Rigo has a 10% chance of landing some early monster punch and a 90% chance of getting a beatdown.
Bloody nice to see quality fighters against each other though

Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
I'm going to say it - Rigo is over rated.
Beautiful boxing but he isn't hard to put down and doesn't hit with enough venom to move up the weights and trouble a fighter like Loma; who is not far off being the perfect boxer imo.

Because some of us would rather only discuss boxing with our fellow, level headed countrymen than crackpots yanks.Arsenal49 wrote:Why is this in the British forum u retard

IMO this has good potential to be one of the most overrated wins in a while....

Rigo too small and been on the slide in recent times.
Loma to dominate and force a mid-late stoppage.

Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
If this was at a weight where Loma could struggle to make then there would be something interesting - at the moment all I see Trinidad vs Jones... the weight difference way too much.
I want to see Loma at lightweight before hopefully moving up to that P4P dream match vs Terrence Crawford.
Loma vs Mickey Garcia would be something.

Re: Lomachenko vs Rigo - Who Wins?
The size difference will be a factor but not as much as it might seem. Rigo is a defensive master and relies on speed and skill rather than strength and power.
Loma was fighting at 126 at age 27. He's maybe gown into 130 or he's looking for bigger purses. I still see this as a close fight.
As good as I think Loma is I don't see him having much luck with the elite names above 130.

Lots of people seem to think that Crawford will probably have moved up himself by then. Istujones wrote:

Rigo's chin has seemed a little suspect hasn't it? So with the move up in weight I reckon he may get stopped late.

He's been floored quite a bit, I don't ever recall seeing him seriously hurt.
