Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
I have not watched yet his fight against Monroe, but I will try to do it today. Thanks God, You Tube still exists.
Has he any chances against GGG ? I suppose, if this fight happen, it will take place in UK (more lucrative version).

He's respectably quick and skilled, but lacks power and conditioning. I think he could have some moments, but Im pretty confident that he'd eventually be overpowered and broken down.

Zero chance, I only see some of his fight last night but he didn't look like he'd be able to cope with Golovkin from what I see
Re: Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
I could not bring myself to watch that pig fight yesterday. From what I have read and heard we have missed nothing.

Billy Joe Saunders has only had one training camp with his new trainer, Dominic Ingle, so I thoroughly expect to see a drastic improvement in his overall conditioning for his next outing in December.ValMar wrote:I have not watched yet his fight against Monroe, but I will try to do it today. Saunders entered the Monroe Jr. training camp weighing 14st. 11lbs, but he said he only intends to take a week off before returning to the gym in sheffield.
For his next bout, Billy Joe can focus solely on improving his conditioning rather than making weight, which should result in a big improvement in his performance. He should no longer have any ring rust either.
Personally-speaking, I don't think we've seen Saunders at his best, but it doesn't bode well for Billy Joe, when Dominic Ingle says that the Brit can easily make 154lbs, which suggests that he's a tad small for the middleweight division.
Saunders himself even called out Amir Khan immediately after his comfortable victory over Monroe Jr.
I don't think that any fighter that is much smaller than Golovkin is capable of scoring an upset over GGG, but Saunders has enough toughness and skill to make things very awkward for Gennady for a few rounds, despite his size disadvantage.

He's got no chance IMO, he couldn't fight at that pace for 6 rounds let alone 12 and he lacks power.
Re: Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
I tried to watch this match (Saunders-Monroe) on You Tube fifteen minutes ago, and I quit after two rounds. Comparing to GGG-Canelo, this match (or the beggining of the match that I watched) is the pure garbage.........

Is Saunders really any smaller than GGG? According to BoxRec he is half an inch taller - no idea about his reach or his fight night weight.Enlightened-One wrote:Billy Joe Saunders has only had one training camp with his new trainer, Dominic Ingle, so I thoroughly expect to see a drastic improvement in his overall conditioning for his next outing in December.ValMar wrote:I have not watched yet his fight against Monroe, but I will try to do it today. I watched a round or 2 of Saunders-Monroe. I turned off my device and looked at the blank screen and the blank screen was more interesting.

The words size and height are not synonymous.jezzamundo wrote:Is Saunders really any smaller than GGG? Saunders has a small frame and was previously fleshy for his bouts.

Of course - Mike Tyson is bigger than Thomas Hearns. I tend to agree that GGG is a little bigger than Saunders, but I really don't think there's that much in it.Enlightened-One wrote:The words size and height are not synonymous.jezzamundo wrote:Is Saunders really any smaller than GGG? Thanks! This was the exact type of "fight" that makes a UFC fan properly ask: How can you be a boxing fan?

From what I saw of Saunders-Monroe, it reminded me of the first time boxing gloves were put on me when I was 9 or 10 years old. It was a day camp thing and they put me in with my buddy and we both figured out if we walk around the ring and killed time we won't have to fight.
Re: Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
Golovkin's pace when and pressure are too much for Saunders, and Saunders doesn't punch anywhere near hard enough to make him hesitant. He might look okay for a round or two though. Stopped by the 8th at the latest.

GGG has taken shots from Jacobs and Canelo without problem. Plus he is far better boxer than Saunders. Saunders is getting hammered when they fight. 6 rounds

Re: Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
what i can say about Saunders chances against Golovkin is that he has a good chance of being stopped or even KTFO'ed
Re: Saunders and his chances again Golovkin ?
After watching a bit of Saunders-Monroe, perhaps Saunders could beat GGG by putting him to sleep out of boredom.
No chance.
No chance.
