Have to say I was flitting between the 2 cards and for me was a poor night of boxing all-round .
There was a couple of good scraps on the Smith undercard .
I have to say I switched off the Saunders fight in the 10th as I couldn't take anymore .
No wonder he's not a ticket seller , Monroe's effort was laughable too , really don't understand such negativity from an away fighter in a world title fight .
After what seemed such a long summer break from boxing I was left very disappointed .

I really enjoyed the Smith - Skoglund fight. It's amazing what happens when you a competitive fight between 2 guys who want to win.rd350lc wrote:Have to say I was flitting between the 2 cards and for me was a poor night of boxing all-round .

Was a bit disappointed with Smith to be honest , after a long lay off seemed very rusty .maverick23 wrote:I really enjoyed the Smith - Skoglund fight. rd250lc,
A bit dissapointed? I was very dissapointed - Smith has been hyped as not just a world champion in waiting but a P4P in the future. He looked like he found his level to be honest and Skoglund, who did very well, did not ooze world class for me.
Whilst I agree with the cards, certainly no controvesy - in some ways Skoglund won that fight - he seemed to find the answer to beat Smith more so than Smith did him, if you know what I mean. He won his rounds a lot bigger (the KD round aside) and if he did not have such a apprehensive start - where Smith wasn't brilliant just that bit more busy - then the cards would have been interesting.
I would certainly favour Eubank Jnr over Smith now.... Groves also should beat Smith but I do worry about George's chin.
I always agree with Steve Lillis' view that great fighters don't have ring rust. They only get "ring rust" when they are shot. Perhaps Smith is dead at the weight, but that was a average performance - a good fight, but not a great display.

Monroes dad beat Marvin Hagler back in the day. You'd think he'd come in with some sense of pride.

Yeh agreed, worst show since Warren went on BT Sport, I preferred the ITV4 card.maverick23 wrote:What did people think of the show last night?
For me it was the worst show since FW linked up with BT Sports. The only competitive fight was the BJS fight (although the Chelli was decent). Too many predictable mismatches - it missed a couple of good competitive fights which they've had on previous shows.
