AJ Carter
AJ Carter
After AJ Carters brutal KO by DD, you could be forgiven for heaping the praise on DD's power, but in reality, whoever booked Carter, knew this was a highlight reel waiting to happen. Without being to disrespectful, there is something not right about Carters serious lack of durability. I worry for this kids long term health if he carries on in this game. He has had 3 very very heavy KO's already in his short career. Against Odeke, he was on Bambi legs from a jab at the end of the first, and was lucky the round ended. He got planted the start of the following round in horrific fashion. He was crawling across the ring, it was not nice to see. Watch below...

And Sokolowski also finished him brutally, a fight with should have been stopped after the first KD to be honest.

Amir khan chin in a heavyweight body...
Re: AJ Carter
Well I got 11/8 with Ladbrokes for Daniel Dubois to win in rounds 1-2.
So the bookies thought it had a chance it could go a couple of rounds.

Bookies are there for the taking with boxing sometimes.

Yeh definitely agree with that.SAPFO wrote:Exoddus wrote:Well I got 11/8 with Ladbrokes for Daniel Dubois to win in rounds 1-2.

As for Carter, yeh, a joke of a booking for a hot prospect like Dubois when he's already getting chinned by 2-9-2 journeymen. Dangerous matchmaking, if he got seriously hurt then people would be asking questions again about boxing and safety.
Re: AJ Carter
One thing I will say for Carter is that he has a big pair of balls for getting in with Dubois given his chin issues.
He probably wont fight again and given that he seems a fairly smart and focused bloke I am sure he can find a more suitable career.

Tom Dallas against AJ Carter would an interesting little scrap. Both glass chinned.

Let's hope it doesn't happen. Tom has retired and it was a good call.boxingknockout wrote:Cruel. But yes would be a good fight at that level!Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Tom Dallas against AJ Carter would an interesting little scrap. Both glass chinned.
AJ should also think about his future carefully. If he wants to fight again, his trainers shouldn't let him be fodder to lethal punching prospects.

With David Price fighting the winner !boxingknockout wrote:Cruel. But yes would be a good fight at that level!Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Tom Dallas against AJ Carter would an interesting little scrap. Both glass chinned.
Re: AJ Carter
Price almost certainly hits harder than Dubois who has not reached his full man strength yet as such Carter or the current Dallas v Price would be a crime.
Re: AJ Carter
good post. dubois been in against total knockover jobs so far. expected given his age but comeone ppl, dont start billing him a murderous puncher yet. its sad watching aj go over hard from nothing shots in those fights.
Re: AJ Carter
Makes me wonder if they could have a 'glove oz' class of sort, so fighters with weaker chins can still compete. Maybe 12 or 14oz would take the edge off some of these chins and allow these boys to show their skill. But then, don't hey call that the amateurs?jamamb wrote:good post. dubois been in against total knockover jobs so far. expected given his age but comeone ppl, dont start billing him a murderous puncher yet. its sad watching aj go over hard from nothing shots in those fights.
