I do and have turned a profit. I still have money in sports book from PAC/dlh

Yes I do. But rarely on single markets unless the price is better than 1/2. I tend to bet on multiples and won over £2,700 a few months back ending with the Brook vs Spence fight

Re: Do you bet on boxing ? Do you make or lose money ?
As a general rule, I don’t frequently bet on boxing, but when I do… it’s usually only trivial amounts of money (nothing more than loose change, with the notable exception of the MayMac circus event).
I tend to have mixed success (roughly a 50% win rate) when I place my bets, with any profits being very insignificant.
If I was a bit braver, with more disposable income, I reckon I could possibly do a fair bit better financially from my betting.
The main reason I bet is to make fights more exciting and to make me watch them more intently, especially for bouts between two fighters that I don’t really care too much about.

I don't bet on boxing; I just think it's too unpredictable at the odds. Yes, I could do multiples at short odds but I can and do make a lot more money on the flat Gee-Gees.

If you bet with your friends you should average out even in the long run. If you bet with the bookies the odds are way stacked against you.

I bet only once. For the Usyk victory in rounds 9 and 11 against Marcko Huck.

not always mate, the bookies are always slipping up when pricing up undercard action or obscure overseas fights, Wangek was 9-4 to beat Gonzales the other week,i was on that like a shotx2x wrote:If you bet with your friends you should average out even in the long run. I do it rarely for fun and break even.

Getting in early is the key. They often let the market set the odds.littlepug wrote:not always mate, the bookies are always slipping up when pricing up undercard action or obscure overseas fights, Wangek was 9-4 to beat Gonzales the other week,i was on that like a shotx2x wrote:If you bet with your friends you should average out even in the long run. As to the overall question. I was about even until Mayweather/Mac. Up over a grand now though I lost 50 quid on Canelo by decision.

spot on mate which is where us as knowledgeable (mostly ha ha ) boxing fans can take advantage, just got to strip away the bullshit and look at the fight in black and white so to speak, got stung by the Haye result so since then have stayed away from single big bets and go for lower stakes undercard accas, got a nice 14-1 6 fold in over the weekendDeadendgeneration wrote:Getting in early is the key. It is one of the easiest sports to bet on and make money. It would be really easy if you didn't have to worry about lousy decisions.

25/1 for Rungvasai on points in the first fight.
3/1 for Dubois to win in the first round at the weekend.
Just two crazy examples of good value.

Pretty much the only sport I consistently bet on and have made profit year on year. If you're serious about it you do need to do your research. Hold your nerve when its time to go big and know when to leave it alone.
