Saunders vs. Monroe jr NOT on allegedly HD

Post by freddy73 »

Looking at Sky's schedule today I noticed that Saunders vs. Monroe jr is not on allegedly HD, I queried this with allegedly at their response was "it clashes with Canelo GGG"

I pointed out that it doesn't on the SD channel and that I would have to take out a BT Sport subscription just to watch it in HD (allegedly SD channel is dreadful) - no response..

Looking at allegedly's HD schedule, it's running freeview Canelo GGG ads all the way up to the event and not airing Saunders Monroe, this is obviously to try and get more buy's which is fair enough I suppose, why don't they just say that instead of try to fob us off with some rubbish about it clashing with the PPV?

Frustrating

I can't watch SD it looks terrible on a big TV , I think BN are really missing a trick by not being HD 100% of the time sly and BeeTee have 4k and BN are 10 years behind, crazy

Watching in HD is miles better than watching in SD. I'm so used to HD these days that watching something in standard makes me think there's something wrong with the TV.

Of course watching it is better than not but it's poor form. How many channels these days routinely show stuff in standard definition, especially big events like this? Can you imagine Sky showing Chelsea Arsenal in SD tomorrow so they could devote time on the HD channel to more needless build up for the Man Utd match?

A lot of people will prefer the build up than the copperbox show. And it's all about getting new subscribers. Or buys.

I pay for BN as I want to watch as much boxing as I can; it's a channel for boxing fans and this feels like fobbing those fans off. How much build up can one person watch? Surely if the Saunders fight was on HD they'd still hype the GGG fight to death throughout?

Still annoyed about this..

For the Saunders Monroe card..

BT Sport UHD - 2160p
BT Sport HD - 1080i
allegedly loyal subscribers - 576i

It looked dreadful..
