FBI, What are you waiting for?
Look, Byrd didn't have a "bad night" scoring and she didn't "see a different fight than the rest of us". Why can't these Boxing writers and pundits utter the damn word..Corruption? I'll say it... Adelaide Byrd was paid by "someone" to give a dishonest score. She is not the first and won't be the last judge to be on the take. But Byrd will end up taking the fall and Oscar De La Hoya will not. Why?
WHEN WILL THE FBI FINALLY INVESTIGATE BOXING? In 2007, the FBI took down NBA referee Tim Donaghy for being on the take. A few years later, the FBI took down MLB via the steroid scandal that was giving unfair advantages to players and teams. 2 years ago, the FBI decided that Tom Brady took a little air out of the football in order to gain an unfair advantage and they felt that was worth it to investigate. When will it be Boxing's turn? What else does the FBI need to see? Here we are in 2017 and Vegas Boxing is still the Old West..six shooters and wagon wheels. Is it finally time FBI?
Someday soon, another horrible decision in Boxing is going to finally get the FBI's attention and those unlucky bastards will end up being poster boys for the years of corruption that guys like Oscar, Arum and Floyd perpetrated in the heat of Vegas. The promotors are the real problem and the story in this one...not the judge that decided to take life changing money in return for her integrity and job. So let's give Byrd a break because we'll never see her again scoring at ringside. Let's shine that light on Oscar now...that's where it belongs.

You’re demanding that the FBI involve themselves in an issue that is very likely to be a simple case of human error (or possibly even incompetence), solely on the premise that there’s “no smoke without fire”.caldo2025 wrote:Look, Byrd didn't have a "bad night" scoring and she didn't "see a different fight than the rest of us". You’ve assumed that Adalaide Byrd has somehow “been paid” to supply a “dishonest score”, without possessing any evidence whatsoever, using only your gut instinct?
How about we ask the FBI to perform an investigation into a baseless accusation of you committing some sort of criminal infraction alleged by an anonymous person that has never met you personally, lives in a completely different geographical location, does not have any first-hand knowledge of the situation and does not possess any evidence whatsoever? Would that be reasonable?

As I mentioned in another thread, Byrd is just plain stupid. A smart corrupt judge would have scored it 115-113 for Canelo or 114-114, so I would suspect Trella more than Byrd.

you may be right as Trella scored round 7 for Canelo which was one of the best or the best Golovkin's round in this fight and actually it changed the fight resultboxing_rocks wrote:As I mentioned in another thread, Byrd is just plain stupid. Incredible, writing an article with incorrect information, I can't beleive it...Byrd had only given Golovkin two rounds. Don Trella's had a 115-113 verdict for Golovkin and Dave Moretti's 114-114 secured the draw ruling.

There's corruption in all sports. The problem is about catching the real criminals, rather than assuming guilt of highly probable innocent parties without possessing any evidence whatsoever.dagilechia wrote:Okay, let alone Byrd's case, do you think there is no corruption in boxing in general?Enlightened-One wrote:You’re demanding that the FBI involve themselves in an issue that is very likely to be a simple case of human error (or possibly even incompetence), solely on the premise that there’s “no smoke without fire”.caldo2025 wrote:Look, Byrd didn't have a "bad night" scoring and she didn't "see a different fight than the rest of us". You are proposing a straw man, since you cannot possibly undermine my actual claims, so instead you intentionally try to misrepresent my thoughts, simply to make it easier for you to attack.
Do you care to revise your response so that it is in the context of something that I have actually stated?

What you're basically saying is that "everyone" (except a very small minority) are gullible lemmings who wholeheartedly "believe" something to be "true" despite their being a complete absence of evidence to support such harsh accusations of criminal activity.Kalan wrote:It's not just Adalaide Byrd... These accusations aren't about the unknowable, such as religion, you actually have to have proof of corruption for the various law enforcement agencies to get involved.

In less than two years, ISIS has gone from a terror start-up overseas to what FBI Director James Comey calls a "chaotic spider web" in the US, with young Muslim men being radicalized in Illinois and the 49 other states. Comey suggests ISIS uses social media like a job fair. That's how he says terrorists snagged three New York men facing ISIS charges.
"Those people exist in every state. I have homegrown violent extremist investigations in every single state. Until a few weeks ago there was 49 states. Alaska had none which I couldn't quite figure out. But Alaska has now joined the group so we have investigations of people in various stages of radicalizing in all 50 states," Comey said.

I don't need to KNOW these criminals personally to call out the obvious and that is that Golden Boy has been paying off these judges in Canelo's fights. That was so obvious that many called it beforehand. And don't tell me that it's not the FBI's responsibility because there were millions upon millions of dollars bet on this fight and the fix was in. The FBI doesn't have enough crimes to investigate with this kind of money involved. So you really are WAY off the mark on this one and showing how you'r just not even close to as intelligent as you think you are.

Even a Canelo balloon knot sniffer like yourself knows that Canelo clearly lost against Lara and GGG. The guy SHOULD have 3 losses on his record and that doesn't bother you? Also, you shouldn't cite analogies to justify your beliefs if they don't correspond to the situation being discussed.
Catching somebody red-handed committing a crime (i.e. being in possession of a stolen car) is not synonymous to someone having an opinion that is different from your own.
