Canelo vs McGregor?

Post by davie »

If Canelo does this in May instead of the GGG rematch, he goes down in my estimations big time.

GGG wants to stay busy, he'll fight in December, then probably around May himself, he could have 2 fights in by the time Canelo wants to face him in September.

It wouldn't be totally unrealistic to think Canelo might take the easy/big payday vs the guy with an 0-1 record

Canelo v Jacobs would be a good match up.

FFS surely not?

Is there rumours of this fight happening is there ? Why doesn't McGregor just fornicate off and do what he is good at and leave boxing alone?, he has made a few quid , gave us all a laugh .

He isn't a boxer, never has been never will be

Canelo/McGregor wouldn't sell. Not to mention Conor would be the a side. Don't worry, McGregor is going back to MMA.

Canelo v Ferdinand would sell, but realistically McGregor v Ferdinand would be an even matchup

Please let all common sense prevail and make sure this fight never happens.

Mayweather took McGregor 10 rounds and beat him after 2 years off from the sport, Canelo just went 12 rounds with arguably the hardest puncher in the division (maybe the sport pound for pound).
I like McGregor in the UFC, not as a boxer, I want to see him fight in his own sport again. Not be forced into retirement.

Canelo would absolutely brutalise McGregor. If I was Conor I'd stay in MMA. Getting stopped by Floyd is one thing, getting stopped a natural sized middleweight versus an undersized 154'er who''s not a puncher vs a guy who has decent (although not mega power) is another thing.

1. This would sell, very very well
2. I think you underestimate Canelos drawing power
3. I'm not sure McGregors next fight will be in the octagon if this sort of payday is available

McGregor knew he was going to lose to Floyd and he would be coming in here knowing he's going to lose again. I'm not sure it's worth the money this time after the money he made last time.

Canelo wouldn't carry him like Floyd did, he's leave him a twitching wreck in the floor, bad idea.

What sort of payday? He's next UFC fight is likely to be at least 30 million. This wouldn't sell shit compared to his return to the octagon. They caught lightning in a bottle, it's done.

Lol, that's reported purse. UFC guys make more on ppv buys. He made 15 million or so in that fight.

McGregor has neither the size, punch, chin or ability to get through the first round against Canelo; the money on offer may tempt him, but the realisation that in two boxing fights he would go from hero to zero to even his know nothing UFC guys will stop him pursuing a Canelo fight.

Would not sell. Canelo cannae speak English. What made the Floyd
Fight was the banter in the build up.

Just cos it's two gingers doesnae make it right.

McGregor did better then Canelo against Floyd. So its stand to reason that he will beat Canelos ginger arse. Bring it on! One thing is for sure, Irishman is lot more interesting then that Kazakh dumb fukc that still cant string two sentences together after 5 years in USA.

McGregor vs Malignaggi would make the most sense. They wouldn't even need to spend money promoting it with their history. MMA fans would tune in because they'll think McGregor would have a decent chance of winning. Although IMO it would be a wide UD for Paulie.
