Who Said It Quiz?

Post by Tony1244 »

To anyone who wishes to venture guesses, don't read the posts below because we're answering the questions.

1) We were so poor where we lived, the ghetto was the rich area.

2) Nothing to it, a child could do it.

3) That fag won't last a round.

4) These (fists) are my referees.

5) Boxing is a lot like jazz, the better it is, the less people can appreciate it.

6) How many guesses do I get? (When asked how many fingers the ref was holding up.)

7) You're white, help me.

8) Muhammad Ali is a square, I'm going to retire him to his rocking chair.

9) I hit him with shots that would have knocked down walls of buildings.

10) You play football. You don't play boxing.

You are correct on #7.

3 of the quotes were said by 1 person, but Cobb is only represented once here.

3/4 are correct. Don't want to give away which they are yet. Also 1 of those 3 was right on #9 but I won't tell you which one yet. :OhYes: Good job!

I saw Vitali Klitschko say #10 in an interview, but I presume he was quoting someone who had said it before?

I'll guess Holmes for #1, because I read it in his voice for some reason.

Muhammad Ali is a square
I'm going to retire him to his rocking chair
At 34 he ain't so young
He's going to be retired by Richard Dunn

The things I remember from my youth.

Not Holmes, but someone who beat Holmes as an amateur.

Bobick?

:TU: Yup.

I think people assumed he was middle class economically, because he was a white kid from Minnesota. He had a funny way of correcting that notion.

Thanks. I was watching a clip of GF in his 3rd or 4th fight and I think Cosell or Dumphy said you made short work of your opponent and Foreman said, "Nothing to it, a child could do it." Then I remembered a couple of the others and went with it.
