 Yeah I’m sure Ward was terrified of a man who he made quit like a bitch.
That straight right by Ward ended Kovalev. Fantastic shot.

Looks like he retires with the last 3 shots he threw being right on the balls.
Oh come on. How is he running scared. He fought the guy in a rematch already. The shots were mostly borderline, kovakev wanted out.
They were low and some of the most vicious low blows I've seen. Kov doubles over and Weeks just casually waves it off? Gtf. Home cooking, just as much as the first fight that Kov clearly won.

Although in his last fight I felt the shots were extremely LOW I think he broke Kovalev's heart. You saw he didn't want to be in the ring hope he has a smooth retirement

Waist is legal, so that makes them vicious body shots. Kov doubled over and wasn't protecting himself or fighting, so the ref has to make the hard but right call to stop it.

Incredible fighter: amazing defensive skills and tactic intelligence. But we can't forget the improprieties committed...

The elbow against Bika at 3:53 is worthy of disqualification.

Great fighter and be sad to see him go. Always enjoyed watching him work people out then work them over. I've always been a dirty fighter myself so I like when a guy masters the dark art and gets away with it. I think he will be tempted out of retirement at some stage but I hope he stays on the couch and enjoys his success.

Did they land in the cup or belt line? If you'll put your 20/20 vision to good work you'll notice the ref calls Kovalevs trunks high at the start, pointing out that Kovs belt line was legal. Maybe dry your eyes first :TU:

Looks like Kovalev pushed it down rather than take it in the guts. I wonder if he was whimpering here.

I know. I was shocked how meekly Kovalev responded. It's the pros not ams. He just can't take it downstairs.

Never really could get to liking him. His coming out party was head butting Kessler to death and didn't do much to endear himself from then onwards. Entitled, Always had the deck stacked in his favour, beat up on atrociously overmatched and underpaid opponents, don't even get me started on the Kovalev fights.

Fantastically talented, the Froch win was absolutely legit, and if he hadn't been such a shady cold fish I would have liked him a lot better. As it is, like Canelo, the way you couldn't get a fair shake at him (the FMJ legacy) means I will be glad to see the back of him. In my opinion he was bad for the sport.

Great fighter. Not the most exciting but looked impossible to beat.

Where does he rank in history at SM? I'd have him right up there.

Kovalev, Winning Super 6 and being a P4P #1 will be his legacy as a pro. Hugely impressive.

I didn't appreciate the dragging of Dan Goosen through several courts to sever his deal with him.

Especially as he was dying.

Goosen got him every fight at home during the super six, and had a few soft touches in the there for good measure. So he could hardly say he'd done a bad job.

For a godly man, he was soon quick to rack up with Prince as his manager.
