Jorge Linares vs. Luke Campbell: Who's watching?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Another late night for us Uk fans. It's not the best fight to stay up for. I believe it starts around 3am on Sky Sports?

Anyone working Sunday?

Not sure if Antonio Orozco's fight will be shown as part of the broadcast.

Who's staying up for the fight?

And who is your last minute pick?

Undecided. I was quite big on Campbell when he turned pro but it looks as if he's not nearly as good as if first anticipated. I'm a fan of Linares but I'd like to see Campbell turn in a performance and take it as he's a Brit but I can't see that happening. I actually think it could be a good fight though so I'm in two minds.

I see Linares being too cute for Campbell. Maybe drop him once but comfortably take it on points. Campbell might put in an excellent performance amd good if he does. Nothing against him, but I don't see Linares losing

Do many actually think he has a chance?

Not so much think he'l win as think he's a value bet - 7/2 = 22.22% chance. Way to low for me.
Linares is class and the obvious favourite, but I can see plenty of reasons why Campbell might pull it off.

AND - betting aside - KeithMoonHangover has it spot on above - how can you call yourself a boxing fan if you don't watch this fight ?

It's definitely an intriguing fight, Campbell is a much better boxer than Crolla but hasn't got experience at this level. It might be one those fights were we see a Brit do it against the odds. I'll be watching, it should be a good fight whatever the outcome.

I’m sure pretty much everyone on here will watch it, but the thread title is a bit misleading - the poll is actually asking who is staying up for it, not who’s watching it.

Probably catch it on YouTube. Should be a good technical boxing match. That could mean it ends up not particularly exciting though.

Given the time differences it's live free to air on Sunday afternoon.
Missus is bringing a Buttie for me and some snacks out to the farm :yay:
Enough to cheer me up if Lukie loses :maybe:

I'll record it and watch it with my breakfast. Unfortunately I just can't seem to take to Campbell at all so hopefully Linares wins.

I think he has a good chance. People are writing him off too easily. I have put a medium bet on.

I’m going to a whisky festival at 5, so I’ll be black out drunk by the time this comes on. Can I still call myself a boxing fan? :D
