Would a pro match on a pro/am be registered on BoxRec?
I don't know if the promoter ever listed it on here or anywhere else, considering he usually promotes amateur cards, but I competed some time ago and was the lone pro contest (or at least the only 'pro' on the show) and won.
Was an exhibition bout but was judged, so I think technically that makes it pro. After all if BoxRec can list Joe Louis and Max Baer and their exhibitions with judges why not me?

We would list your pro bout, but probably won't if it really was an exhibition...

That you once fought a professional fight does not make every scuffle you're involved in a professional boxing match.HomicideHenry wrote:I don't know if the promoter ever listed it on here or anywhere else, considering he usually promotes amateur cards, but I competed some time ago and was the lone pro contest (or at least the only 'pro' on the show) and won.Was an exhibition bout but was judged, so I think technically that makes it pro.

MOST EXHIBITIONS ARE REALLY CONSIDERED SPARRING SESSIONS AND THEY DON'T USUALLY HAVE COMMISSIONS SCORING OR A DOCTOR AVAILABLE WHICH SOUNDS LIKELY IN YOUR CASE. BACK IN THE DAY THEY USE TO HAVE SOME PROMOTIONS WITH PRO FIGHTS WITH EXHIBITION ON THE SAME CARD WHICH WERE LIKE GYM WARS AND THE PROMOTER LOVED THEM BECAUSE HE COULD GET DECENT PROS TO FIGHT FOR FREE OR PEANUTS BUT IF HE PICKED SOME KNOWN PROS IT WOULD HELP DRAW FANS. SORT OF LIKE MAYWEATHER AND MCCREGOR DONE FOR THEIR ENTERTAINMENT SHOW WHICH WASN'T NOTHING MORE THAN A SPARRING SESSION.

I guess I'll have to confer with the promoter and Frank Stea (Top Rank) because he was there. Maybe either one can clarify if it was or wasn't. If it didn't count.. well guess that really sucks to be me.. oh well, it's experience I guess.

I'm not exactly sure because he was literally picked out from the audience. He was Mexican, I know that much. I don't speak Spanish and the accent is out of tone to my ears, to really pick up what was exactly said. I know his first name was Roberto. I'd have to ask Frank Stea or the promoter what his last name was.crusader wrote:Who did you fight?

Okay, Frank Stea said that the guys name was Roberto Campetillo. Frank can be reached at the following number at Top Rank: 702-406-3181. He was there, he saw it go down, said it was a pro contest. I won the fight.

I already said what I wanted to say. I listed Frank's number, and if it's not included then it's not included. Life goes on. I'm done defending myself on the issue.

Rather defensive. By only pro on the show, do you mean you solicited yourself for money?HomicideHenry wrote:I already said what I wanted to say. I listed Frank's number, and if it's not included then it's not included. Life goes on. I'm done defending myself on the issue.
