He didn't win, he lost the least.
He won. AJ would look like a novice against that Tyson. You'd be asking how he got a license.

He'd flatten fury inside 3 rounds.

I think he kicks himself more over the Fury loss. He was desperate to avenge that but Tyson obviously didn't want any part of it.
He could never beat Tyson, AJ was made for him.
So made for him he got knocked out.

Wlad could very easily have been taken out in short time in the rematch. It was a huge jump in class for Joshua and he passed every test.

Hope we get to find out either way but I know where my money will be. This inactivity when he should be in his prime will prevent Fury from reaching the heights he should back at.

No question, I'm just talking about the fury that fought wlad. Forget about Joshua, he might get smoked by whyte now. He'll never be a factor again. Shame, he's interesting to say the least and was usually entertaining enough. He had a lot of heart with his average chin and poor defense, his ko losses to aj and wilder would be highlight reel.

The people saying the Fury who beat Wlad (by only landing 86 punches all night) will inevitably fall back on the excuses of his inactivity if he ever comes back and Wilder/Joshua smoke him.

There is a whiff of desperation about it mind. Suggesting Joshua was beaten up for ten rounds by Wlad is patently nonsensical.

Poor defense?!? He hardly got touched by Klitscho during their fight! :shame:

True. But suggesting that AJ proved himself to be the HW king by beating an over the hill ex champ who was exposed by Fury is equally nonsensical

Did you really have AJ winning that after 10?

See if AJ can do that in his 40's. Age beat him. Ten years ago, he wouldn't have got into the 7th.

Tyson isn't active, hasn't fought in two years, is obese, has failed drug tests and his comeback dates have fallen apart. He's become a joke.

So whoever you want to consider the heavyweight king, it isn't him. Is it Wilder, who has beaten nobody better than an old Stiverne? Or Joshua, who stopped an old Wlad?

You said Wlad gave him a good hiding for ten rounds. You could debate who was up after ten, (Joshua for example threw more and landed more in all of the first four rounds, and if you give them to him despite them being close then he was almost certainly ahead), but there's no way any sane individual who say Joshua had been given a ten round hiding!

This is just more Fury-based bitterness as said many a time on here. People backing Fury over Joshua are absolutely seething about the latter getting credit and being popular.

It's hard to get touched when your opponent doesn't punch. Fury was wide open. He always was. Nimble for his size, huge and grapefruits. That's what he had, this heavyweight Pernell Whitaker his fans carry on about never existed.

I agree with you that it isn't tyson. I just think that AJ's coronation has been premature and way over the top.

This. Wlad was only throwing just over six punchers per minute.

It's hard not to hype a guy who's won two versions of the world title in nineteen fights having won all nineteen by knockout.

Over the top would be people suggesting he's on his way to being better than Lewis, better than Tyson, better than anyone. But I don't see anyone saying that. The most you see is that he has great potential (hard to argue with) but if he retired after knocking out Pulev where would he rank? He'd still be clearly behind Lennox in terms of British heavyweights of the past few decades, and there would be arguments to say his record was on a par with Fury.

As for his 'coronation' being premature, who would you honestly say would be favourite to beat Joshua in boxing at the moment.

So what happened that night? Did Tyson hypnotise him? In his home country? But he came and floored AJ in his hometown? It doesn't even make sense to suggest it's all Wlad's fault. He wasn't good enough for Tyson, simple!

Wlad wasn't the most engaging fighter, Joshua forced his hand. Fury was smart not to attack because he isn't equipped for that kind of fight without a size advantage. More power to him, it was a dreadful bout but I was elated seeing wlad lose. Doesn't invent new talent. Valuev didn't get hit a ton either, I guess he's Willie pep? Lmao

Ok, I'm surprised AJ Carter couldn't beat Wlad that night, or you. For that one night in his life, he didn't fancy throwing punches. Nothing at all to do with Fury.
