I don't understand what GGG's team will do if Canelo wants an easy fight in May ? I know they don't want to ruin the momentum and the hype of the first fight outcome, to build up the hype for the rematch but Golovkin will have to fight his mandatories unless he's gonna wait another year and maybe have a soft fight meantime.

My feeling is that they hope that GGG takes a fight before the end of the year and loses so that the rematch would lose luster and they can fight someone else. But if Canelo does not elect to accept a rematch in his next fight, my hope is that Mexican fans never leave his ass alone. It can't be fun being a coward in Mexico as a boxer...That must not be a good time.

They would wait till Sept 2018. Golovkin would slow down visible in one year. Canelo is in his prime and he's getting better. Also I think Canelo would probably fight Saunders for the wbo title in May.
