He did with his feet and speed of punch he just didn't land his punches ...so shades of Ali is fair ....he didn't have Ali's accuracy of punch though
Please don't ever put Hughie Fury's name in the same sentence as Ali's ever again.

I'd prefer AJ to fight the winner of Wilder-Ortiz. Parker would be easier though!
I think both of those fights will happen next year

Strap season baby!!
I think Parker gets absolutely annihilated,. I think Joshua beats all 3 though. A younger Ortiz would have been more interesting.

Parker has no place in a ring with a top 5 heavyweight
No chance Chisora wins.
Agree with this - 'cos Chisora would FIGHT Parker and make him look good, rather than fiddle about and expose his footwork.

I'd give Parker a very small chance against Joshua, because I'd expect Joshua to open up straight away and stop him within two rounds. At some point in that maelstrom, the swinging, desperate Parker might land something. It has a 1-in-15 sort of feel to me, but you never know.

But he's otherwise too ineffective at closing distance against taller men, and Joshua's the most dangerous of all. There was a single moment, late in this fight, when Parker finally executed a Tyson sway under Fury's shots. I think his own bravery counts against him, and he's never bothered to try and properly master movement.

I think AJ would be too smart to give him that little chance.
Box, move and frustrate him like Hughie did for a few rounds, then spark him when the opening came.

Haha I thought the same! Terrible fight in the end, like a bad European title fight in some quiet hall somewhere you never heard of, no atmosphere at all. Had it 119-111 Parker due to him going forward mostly and Fury trying to nick rounds on the back foot but a couple of rounds were so bad that I can see it closer than I thought it was. Parker didn't show too much but at least he tried to make a fight of it, Hughie was awful I thought, never looked like he wanted to rip the belt away from JP and it would have been a travesty if he'd got the nod.

I've always had the feeling that we'll see the best of Parker when he loses. Like I say, I think he's a bit too game for his own good and hasn't focused on the refinements that he'll need to progress much further.

Fury can improve so long as he accepts that he lost and wasn't jobbed.

Parker v AJ no contest

Parker holds a title, as does Wilder - neither want to cash out with AJ yet

Bellew / Haye winner would be a potential fight with good money and chance of a win - not even sure either would go near Haye especially if he KO's Bellew like he should have done first time

For some reason it reminded me a little bit of a heavyweight version of Froch-Dirrell

But with much less punching.

Joshua chin is not as good as Parker . But then Parkers power isnt as good as Joshua ...

So Power/Chin ratio is about even
Speed is in Parkers favour
Reach in Joshua's but speed counters reach .

50/50 fight

Wlad absolutely caught AJ with a great shot and he has ATG power, Parker has nowhere near his power. So its more like a 1 in 50 shot for me, he'd have to catch AJ cold while he doesn't see the punch coming.

I was thinking the same.
But I remember Dirrell "rocking Froch to his boots" in the 12th - thought Dirrell (just) did enough unlike Hughie.

How do you know Parker has the better chin??? He's never took shots off anyone as powerful as Wlad, not even close.

1-in-15's optimistic, aye. I think because I can imagine a flustered kind of knockdown, with Joshua affected by this-shouldn't-be-happening panic for just long enough to get hurt. If Parker could somehow get inside the pocket and swing hooks like a man possessed, that is. Joshua can take Parker's best shot on the outside, but it's on the inside when it gets dirty that might be his weakness. Then again, maybe not.

Had Fury won, it was all set for Haye-Fury supposing that Haye's body lets him past Bellew. If Haye wins and one of Wilder and Ortiz is eliminated, it's for Joshua to pick between those two and Parker after Pulev.

Nah.
I really like Parker and I don't really like Joshua but Joshua would be a massive favourite, like 90/10 or more

Fair, but fact Wilder won't go anywhere near a hard hitter - he has his belt, and unless its WBC mandatory cant see him fighting AJ for a long time

Exactly like Tyson beat Wlad EXCEPT...

Tyson was busy.
His punches were hard enough to count
He didn't look like he was running and about to be KO'ed the moment he stood still.
He showed little bursts of aggression

Everything that Hughie didn't show.
Tyson's was a masterclass (boring tho' it was) Hughie's was an embarrassment.
Looking like he was going to get KO'd ? His chin is fine .
Instead of running he Tyson threw in the odd shuffle and dance move .
It was a very similar performance .
It WAS a very similar performance, but wherever the line is between trying to steal a fight and not deserving poo and outboxing someone serenely off the back foot is - Tyson crossed it and Hughie was well short.[/quote]

The biggest difference is that Parker tried to get inside and punch ( how many times did Huggy have to tie up while on ropes? How much running did Huggy do? )

While Tyson fury vs Klitschko was lost due to Klits lack of success at fighting inside , probably due to klits never having fought anyone so big

Don't see that at all, AJ is not unbeatable by any stretch but I can't see anything in Parkers armoury right now that could trouble him at all. 50/50 fight? Not in my opinion

Highly amusing post! It must be a joke.... Parker would get brutalised in 5 rounds or Less
