Gilberto Ramirez vs Jesse Hart

Post by handsofstone »

Ramirez defends his WBO Super Middleweight title on the Valdez/Servania card against puncher Hart who's 22-0(18KOs), cant remember if ive seen Hart, not that I can remember anyway, he's unbeaten but untested really, no real stand out names on his record , big step up for him, Ramirez is a quality operator, hard to tell if this is a big step up from Bursak without really knowing how good Hart is, hopefully Hart can bring the best out of Ramirez who has had things far too easy in his last couple of fights, he never dropped a round against Abraham or Bursak and is a fighter who needs the big tests because he's far too good for the European level fighters he's been facing

Hart's record suggest he's dangerous but I still think Ramirez wins, he's the best 168 boxer right now IMO

This is a hell of a card with Valdez, Kavaliauskas and bunch of Rio Olympic stars on it. Plus it is on Friday, so it doesn't clash with other shows. Obviously Ramirez/Hart is a very interesting fight.

I remember being semi impressed with him on the May/PAC card, but I ain't seen him since. Haven't seen much of Ramirez either, he looks huge though.

Id like to see Ramirez give that big stiff, lump C.Smith a good pasting. Be good to see him fighting someone his own size.

Great fight, I enjoyed that, had Ramirez winning 116-112, I thought the scorecards were gonna be wider than mine but they were actually closer, Ramirez done all the pressing and Hart looked tired at times but kept finding reserves of energy to keep Ramirez honest, Hart had a good 1st round but when Ramirez put him down in the 2nd you feared the worst for him as the shots didn't look too hard and Hart's legs were gone, fair play to him though he toughed it out and apart from looking tired and being forced back, there wasn't actually much between them in punches landed in a lot of the rounds, Ramirez had a great 4th and battered Hart from pillar to post but after that Hart settled down and had his moments too, he just struggled to hurt Ramirez the way he'd been hurt

Ramirez showed an excellent chin but I think Hart had him hurt in the 11th but he never really pressed for a KO, Ramirez's body work took a lot of the wind out of Hart's sails and Jesse could never really win a couple of rounds on the spin, Ramirez's busier workrate was what told in the end I think, good competitive fight which both men had success, good to see the right man win and all the scores in check

i can't see any super middleweight beating gilberto , he ticks all the boxes for me , yes he got hit at the end ,but he took the shots and fired back while with a big lead , ramirez looked fantastic he fought on the front foot all fight even in the last rds when he had a clear lead , but big respect to hart ,he took big shots and gave a few as well that would deffo in the last rds that i think would of troubled or beat any of the top ten as well . great fight

Gonna get flack for this, but I had it a draw and was more impressed by Hart than Ramirez. Would expect prime Andre Ward to 12 nil him.

Haven't watched it back like, scored a few rounds as draws which I don't like doing but I couldn't decide.

Ramirez to me didn't take it to Hart like I expected after that second round, likewise I think Hart stopped fighting behind the jab too often.

Just watched this.

A very very good fight, I had Ramires winning by a couple but was impressed with both guys effort.

Ramires is a good busy fighter and his style will make for some good fights.
Can't see anyone in the SMW division beating.
He gets hit but has a fantastic chin
