Linares-Campbell
Linares-Campbell
Campbell much better than I expected. This fight is super close.
Re: Linares-Campbell
I have Linares up 96-93 thru 10 but he could easily be behind on the cards.

Same as Lederman. Which means Campbell is ahead thru 11.

Can’t see my way to 7 rounds for Campbell. Knockdown should be the difference.
Solid effort for Campbell but he definitely lost.

Re: Linares-Campbell
Linares clearly won the last 2 rounds to ice the fight for me.
Re: Linares-Campbell
115-112 Linares for me
Re: Linares-Campbell
Proper decision. 115-113 Campbell is a poor card. Shockingly the Scottish judge gave it to Campbell. I’m stunned.
Re: Linares-Campbell
Didn't you also say that Parker couldn't win a decision in the UK against Fury?diddy wrote:Proper decision. 115-113 Campbell is a poor card. Shockingly the Scottish judge gave it to Campbell. I’m stunned.
Re: Linares-Campbell
Close call, but I kept my perfect run of picks for the weekend intact. Good fight.
Re: Linares-Campbell
Campbell talking garbage there. He didn't outclass Linares. It was a close fight though, but Linares deserved the win.
Re: Linares-Campbell
Not surprised. He fought the last few rounds like he thought he had it in the bag. I mean...his problem for reading the fight so wrong, but he genuinely felt he had it won.lefty wrote:Campbell talking garbage there. He didn't outclass Linares. How would you see Linares-Garcia going? I think Garcia stops him.gilgamesh wrote:Not surprised. He fought the last few rounds like he thought he had it in the bag. Re: Linares-Campbell
Yeah I'd favor Mikey stop Linares. It'll be competitive early going, but ultimately I think Linares is too vulnerable, and Garcia would be able to either stop him outright or bust him and stop him over the long haul.lefty wrote:How would you see Linares-Garcia going? Maybe it'd go the distance, but I'd favor Garcia by some form of stoppage myself.
Linares has definitely had a solid run as Champion though. He was a hot prospect that kinda got written off at one point, but he's bounced back to have a respectable career after all no matter what happens from here.

Good fight, gave Linares the last three to pull it out 115-113. 5th even.
Re: Linares-Campbell
I’m shocked Parker got such a wide nod in England but if you really think about it probably makes sense in that Parker vs Joshua makes more dollars in England as Parker is a more bankable commodity. If the best heavyweight in the world wasn’t a Brit I would be much more surprised by this. They’ll be serving Parker up to Joshua after he beats Pulev.

I think they're going for Joshua/wilder. Parker Vs haye or bellew.

Lousy in the sense that Fury and Campbell both lost. I am not referring to the talent of either.

Didn't Parker say that he is moving to the U.K. ? That plus more exciting boxing style and more likable personality probably immediately make him more marketable than Fury.diddy wrote:I’m shocked Parker got such a wide nod in England but if you really think about it probably makes sense in that Parker vs Joshua makes more dollars in England as Parker is a more bankable commodity. Re: Linares-Campbell
Thanks for explaining, lol, luke is better than almost all of the Brits on here thought. That's a good day in my eyes. I've never watched Hughie so I can't comment, but he's clearly not a national hero.hulkmaniac wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I don't think so. Luke's world class.hulkmaniac wrote:Lousy day for UK boxing.

Re: Linares-Campbell
Not hurting anything though. I don't think the U.K. has ever had a more steady run of Champions and Championship caliber fighters than they have now, and Boxing overall is as hot there as it is anywhere on the planet.hulkmaniac wrote:Lousy day for UK boxing.
Re: Linares-Campbell
Could it not have been three straight judges calling as they saw it with no ulterior agenda? Sorry I know that's a pretty radical concept. I thought Parker deserved to retain the title but I think the judge that had it a draw was closer to my scorecard.boxing_rocks wrote:Didn't Parker say that he is moving to the U.K. ? Linares v Campbell was an excellent contest which I felt could have gone either way. Linares won the rounds more convincingly but after the knockdown I thought Campbell was settling into it and put together a number of rounds where I thought he edged them. I've no complaints about the decision though there wasn't much in it.
