Hughie has loads of options. He's 23, just come out the wrong side of a controversial decision in a WBO title fight. Has (apparently) beaten his illness. Keep it real guys. Also don't forget, the name Fury carries weight in the HW division.

Controversial? Did you think Hughie should have won.

In my opinion hes not world level and has no power. Neither man was good enough last night to beat AJ, AJ would have knocked both out inside of 2 rounds. Last night wasnt very pretty neither committed, neither had power and neither is nothing special.

On the plus side Fury is only young he can come back if he has the desire.

I don't know Mimmy, I haven't seen it. The pundits seem to think it could have gone either way though.

Is he world level? Is British level? Who knows, good idea would be to get him in with a fringe level contender and see.
A draw with a belt holder isint really a good indication

He apparently has not beaten illness. He has boils as usual, he is emaciated like a worm, and has zero athleticism. You should watch a fight. I mean running.

Fury name definitely caries the weight, that was my point. The name says stay away from us.

He needed 2 or 3 tune up fights first. A British level guy like Cornish or Allen, a top 50 guy like Adamek, Flores or Mansaur and then gone in with Parker.

Cornish is good prep for a title shot? Jesus wept!!
Can you read? I mentioned someone like Cornish first to basically shake off the rust, get a few rounds in against a fairly easy opponent before stepping up to someone more decent like Adamek, Flores or Mansaur who would be decent prep for a title shot.

Hughie had no business as a mandatory and only got to #1 because of the Fwank connection.

He doesn't have the stopping power for stoppage wins at the top level, so he'll have to rely on mostly points wins and he ain't busy enough to get the nod against the better heavyweights.

Regarding his lack of a following, the only way he's going to change that is one of two things, a lightning in a bottle performance like Groves against Froch or employing a top PR agency.

He has plenty of skills and is a nice fella, so I hope he does well.

It's not a problem that he lost, it's how he lost. It reinforced many observers' concerns about him - not enough power, unwilling to engage, boring to watch.

He's skillful but he's going to be a nightmare to match and that is the main problem that came out of last night's performance in my opinion.
Yeah I agree that he lacks power and he's completely boring. Still I don't think he was completely outclassed by Parker. A bit more experience and without coming from a year away from boxing and whatever illness he had and he might have been more up for it.

For me he needs a domestic level fight or two, then one or two fringe contenders.

He done pretty well, and he's young enough to improve quite a bit, trouble is, because of his style he'll never be a star.

I think going for the European title would make a lot more sense than the British.

It never seemed to me Fury did enough to take the title away. A lot of the rounds were close in my opinion but not enogh from Fury to convincingly say that you gave him the rounds.

As a matter of fact after the final bell I did say to my lad tgat Fury hadnt done enough but i wouldnt be surprised a draw. So when 114 - 114 came out i said to my my lad 'told ya'

I think 118.-110 was fair enough just on the asumption that Fury didnt do enough to win the rounds that were close enough to go either way. I just didnt feel the challenger took the fight to Parker and made him work. As far as world heavyweight title fights it was a very poor one, there wasnt any action of note and it goes to show what a state heavyweight boxing is in at the moment. We need AJ to clean up in hope you have some decent challengers just around the corner.

Unfortunately, Hughie blew it. This was has to be his best chance if getting a World belt and generating some cash.

Peter has funded him from day 1 - personally paying all his opponents purses. This works ok if you throw someone 10 grand who usually gets 5 grand, but now the opponents would need to be half decent level and want much more money.

Add in the fact that half a dozen British boxers would beat him, I can't see him actually winning a title fight - could the Furys spend that kind of money when it is unlikely to get a return?

Straight back in the Gym with a new strength and conditioning coach & nutritionist.... He desperately needs to add a bit of snap and power to his punches imo. Hes a big lad but soft and podgy, didnt look like he had enough strength to trouble Parker at all.
Beg FW to take him back...? Being on Frampton & BJS undercards would be good for him.

Could be tough for Hughie moving forward... Almost certainly will be if he has burnt bridges with Frank, who now has 2 new HW prospects in Dubois and Gorman....

Personally i just hope he stays active and improves his style a little bit. I dont mind the 'hit and not be hit' stuff but it was boarding on Malik Scottt's runaway shite at times.

It will be hard for him , like others have said , to get someone in there willing to chase him all night because he refuses to engage , will cost money , who's gonna fund it , He's young enough to change his style around a bit but he won't .. His dad says he boxed to plan made him miss bla bla bla , but he forgets one thing , there are basic rules in boxing .

The most basic one being A scoring punch is an EFFECTIVE PUNCH , landed with the scoring part of the glove, on the scoring part of the body , with the weight of the shoulder behind it .

Now a touch of the jab a flick of a jab while your running away does'nt score , its not an effective punch .. Peter says i told him to throw more right hands , well he would'nt because he could'nt , and why could'nt he MUSCLE MEMORY , he has practiced running and holding for so long , he has'nt developed the muscle memory to just let the shots go , , It should be automatic no thinking , .

If what i read is correct , Peter says he will now be off till january , if thats true what a joke he should'nt have more than a week off . Hughie Fury is really a non entity , why fight him so he can run and hold , who's gonna pay for it , ,, Best thing he can do is leave his dad , go with a non fighting man ( sarcasm ) who can train him , and learn him to move punch with both hands and DEVELOP some power .

Theres one thing , i was taught has a young fella by my old coach , and i always said it to lads i trained who wanted to turn pro , If you hav'nt got a cast iron chin , and a very heavy punch , you don't belong in the pro's ,, Hughies style may have won him a olympic gold , but it won't win a world title , unless of course he changes his style a bit , and to do that he needs another coach

I had Fury winning comfortably last night but I was hammered and cant remember anything about the fight other than it was boring as fvck and Hughie's boily back

I should really give it a rewatch but I think i'll leave it, I was impressed with Broadhurst last night right up until Wale KO'd him, I thought he was giving Josh a boxing lesson

I think getting out of the pay to play model he has been in and accepting low wages (which would be more than he's been getting anyway if reports are to be believed) and starting again would be a good idea.

Hugh may need a better trainer or motivator. He has good tools. He has good speed. he needs more strength and conditioning.

I thought he might shift it into high gear after the first 2 rounds, but the first 2 rounds were the high gear.

I think Hughie could be much better.
