Peter has funded him from day 1 - personally paying all his opponents purses. This works ok if you throw someone 10 grand who usually gets 5 grand, but now the opponents would need to be half decent level and want much more money.

Add in the fact that half a dozen British boxers would beat him, I can't see him actually winning a title fight - could the Furys spend that kind of money when it is unlikely to get a return?
Lol no, try and name them.
Joshua
Big Tyson
Whyte (already ducked by Team Fury)
Chisora (beat Whyte, got jobbed)
Then maybe Dubois and Gorman?

Parker is no great shakes.

I thought he might shift it into high gear after the first 2 rounds, but the first 2 rounds were the high gear.

I think Hughie could be much better.
I agree, I think he's got really good skills. His movement is excellent and his reflexes are superb for the most part. He has no problem handling twelve rounds, but I think he lacks the conditioning to put together two or three flurries in a round and they are the sort of eye catching combinations that win over the fans and the judges. If he can't be taught power, which is very difficult to teach IMO, then combinations are the answer.

Well he is ranked number 5 in the Boxrec rankings and I would also back Dubois to beat him.

Really, do you think he has bankrolled him so far?

Where is the return?

So he shouldn't go for the British title then?

What is your suggestion?

Why waste time with Cornish? Who the eff wants to see that fight?
Because Cornish is low-risk enough to not get an upset, a better name than him facing Pavel Wlodkrap 12-9 from a Polish building site and either him or Allen would have been the right opponent for Fury to get some rounds under his belt in a low risk fight after a year out and a illness. Then he could step up to someone Euro or fringe-world level.

Parker was a step too far after his lay off. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Hughie's bounceback fight is vs Cornish.

Quite like the Nathan Gorman fight. It goes without saying how unrealistic I'm being.

Isn't Gorman from a gypsy/traveller family ?

They're related, albeit somewhat distantly, so I suspect for that reason alone that one will be out of the question.

He's the cream of British-level heavies, but he's nowhere higher to go with any degree of certainty. I think his best bet would be to relocate to the US and have a topsy-turvy career against their current heavies. Follow Khan's example, minus his inactivity. Jennings, Mansour, Miller and all those guys.

I knew they were related, I don't know how close they are, my only reason for throwing up Gorman v Fury was their similarities, Gypsy background, decent technicians in the ring, lack power.

A blessing that nobody saw it...now Hennessy needs to be crying foul and robbery all the time...appeal the decision. It won't be successful but at least he'll get publicity and will be known as the man robbed of a world title. If done well he could get a high recognition fight quite quickly.

Thought Tyson was related through his mum, not Hughie?

Hennessy needs to stop getting angry. So that:

A) he stops comparing Hughie to Ali
B) so that he doesn't give himself a cardiac arrest the fat bastard

Fair enough you must be a fan of Hughie. I just see him as a shite boxer, who hasn't improved or fought anyone of note but was gifted a world title shot, in which he shat himself. If he fights Cornish next, what does that say about him as a 'world title challenger'?

Controversial? Did you think Hughie should have won.

In my opinion hes not world level and has no power. Neither man was good enough last night to beat AJ, AJ would have knocked both out inside of 2 rounds. Last night wasnt very pretty neither committed, neither had power and neither is nothing special.

On the plus side Fury is only young he can come back if he has the desire.

Neither man would beat Herbie fuckin Hide never mind Joshua

its funny to think that Hughie has essentially been bought a title shot by his rich daddy then blew it. Couldn't make it up

I went to that “event” last night ,Fury made Parker follow him around an miss all night but wasn’t consistent enough with the counter shots in my opinion.
It was Furys fight to lose but he needed to do more to take a champions title an he didn’t .
Parker isn’t very good and is very limited from what I seen last night, only punches Parker landed clean was in the 12th ,Furys chin is legit though .
Terribly promoted event an dreary fights on it to . better fights in the crowd lol
Don’t know where HF goes from here though !? British level ?

I'll have to watch it but he didn't sound out of his depth on the radio, just got the impression he lacked the power to really deter Parker with anything he landed so Parker was able to just press the fight, and land the best shots.

He wasnt out of his depth with Parker as they are as poor as each other, he just didnt want to take the title from him. Its not as if Parker had a deadly punch and Fury jusy kept his distance. Fury just didnt win the rounds or dominate the fight.
