Hearn on Jacobs' Options: Golovkin II, Canelo, Lemieux, Saunders

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Hearn is planning to keep Jacobs very, very busy in the next twelve months.

And because Jacobs signed an exclusive multi-fight deal with HBO - it opens up the door for future fights with other middleweights who call HBO their home - like Canelo Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin, David Lemieux and others.

"This is not a case of sign and lets see what happen. We want to fight Canelo or Triple G. And until that draw last week, we were looking at the winner of that fight after this one. Now it might take a little bit longer, no problem," Hearn told BS.com.

"I like the David Lemieux fight. That's a fight we could look at, for the spring. The aim is to get him out in November, in a good fight, and then keep him busy and get him right out again in February or March, and then again in the summer... try to box at least three times a year or even four times. But the Canelo or Triple G fight is an obvious fight."

Jacobs is coming off a very close twelve round decision loss to Golovkin back in March.

"I had Danny Jacobs winning that fight [over Golovkin], some people had Golovkin winning that fight. But either way it was a pick'em fight," Hearn said.

"The rematch is a natural fight, whether it's a Golovkin or Canelo. David Lemieux is a good fight. Billy Joe Saunders is there as well. He's going to be kept nice and active and that's what we want."

Why couldnt he just fight Lemieux straight away? With boxing, its always this "we need to give him a warm up fight first" bollocks.

Lemieux would be a warmup for Charlo or Canelo.

What's the big deal? Hearn says he's going to keep Jacobs busy... and he will. And Hearn is one of the best at building the hype surrounding a fighter.
