Ortiz became already washed up old bum

Post by IronFrost »

Idk what is wrong with boxing fans. In my opinion Oriz is the best name Wilder could fight right now. But some internet trolls and haters started call Ortiz old washed bum!?

Dear boxing fans. Could you name some better name than Luis Ortiz right now?

But ... But ... Ortiz did not look "great" in his recent fights....

But..But Povetkin looked so godlike against Injured Rudenko and Parker was beast against Cojanu and Hughie Fury!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who the fornicate looked great in their recent fights? :yay:

Wilder, Ortiz or any pro boxers make milions and risk their life. They work every day.

But what you internet trolls and haters do? Sitting behind computer and eating chips?

Hating almost on everyone because you feel insecure? Because you never had anything great in your pathetic lifes?

Even those "bumz" ranked number 100 would KTFO you cold HARD. Because most of you are not even boxers. All you do is talk about others . But you are NOBODIES

You boyz would never face them because all you have is power behind keyboard.

Listen here, Frosty.
If I want a dressing down I will ask a professional. My wife has had many more years of experience than you.
Ortiz has looked naff for 2 fights/2 years. It could be the level of opponent (low) or it could be father time. Who knows. A lot of people think he beats Wilder, I hope he dosent for the simple reason I want Wilder to face AJ like 90% of all other boxing fans.

Spot on Kiwi. Every word (Obviously I don't know your wife but that works for mine too :D )

It's a great match-up. I'm wondering if it would have been made if Ortiz had just demolished Jennings in his last fight i.e. this year. Maybe not but I still applaud Wilder for his decision to take the fight and If Ortiz turns out to become an old man overnight I will still credit Wilder for taking this fight. He didn't need to. He could have fought his mandatory, Stiverne. After that a hand-picked patsy, then the holy grail, the mega-money unification.

Similarly Ortiz deserves massive respect. He most certainly didn't need to take on Wilder. He had a guaranteed shot at Joshua (or Pulev) early next year. All he had to do was sit on his arse or beat up some stiff but no. He elects to fight Wilder in so doing presumably loses his WBA mandatory and his mandatory share of the Joshua pot. He must be absolutely convinced he is going to beat Wilder it's the only explanation for his taking this course.

The line between bravery and folly has always been a thin one.

I'm a huge fan of Ortiz's but I think unfortunately a combination of age, lack of mobility and being very one paced is going to be his downfall against Wilder. I think he is the superior boxer of the two, but I see Wilder adopting a strategy whereby he uses a lot of movement ala the Stiverne fight. I think Ortiz will end up chasing him all night but end up hitting air a lot of the time and losing a relatively wide points decision, or possibly a late stoppage defeat.

As crazy as this sounds, I actually think Ortiz matches up better against Joshua stylistically than he does Wilder, because the former isn't a guy that is really gonna be up on his toes dancing around the ring all night.

I can never make a prediction in a Wilder fight :D

He looks terrible & then BOOM, fights over.

I can see an argument for either fighter winning this one.

But I'm still not sure what the OP's problem is

Do you think his User Name should've been Iron Fist, not Frost? Seems a strange combination...?

I've just checked a few of his posts. I'm not surprised they're all bashing Ortiz and defending Wilder (to the point of sycophancy).

His first post, worryingly, he seems to answering himself and talking to an unknown entity in a third person.

Ortiz DID look bad in his last 2 fights -- and maybe Father Time IS catching up with him like he catches up to everybody.

But when you get a chance like this you get revved up again and shake some of those cobwebs and creaky knees... Like Wladimir did against Joshua... Wlad was 41 and trailing down, but he was on fire for the fight because he could have made History. He didn't??? That's tough, but he made a great effort.

Ortiz won't be 39 until more than 4 months after the fight... It's a cinch he's not getting any younger and not getting better.. He's desperate to win this fight and I believe he'll pull it off.. Because it could be his last shot.. If he doesn't do it he's screwed so he going for it. That's tremendous motivation for him..

It's not the same thing, but it's a little like Buster Douglas getting ready for the Mike Tyson fight.. He never did crap so nobody believed in him.. "This is it baby. If you don't get this done you'll never be SHIIT for the rest of your life.. If you DO it you'll be world famous.. It'll be the high point of your life forever."

And it's a little like Foreman in the Moorer fight... He got chance after chance to win the title and failed.. This was his 3rd shot. His LAST shot.. He was getting the shiit knocked out of him, but he had a feeling a miracle would happen.. He wore those same trunks he wore 20 years before.. He was alert for every millisecond of that fight cuz he knew his chance was coming.. Sometimes the stars are right and you just know.

TBH, I think barely anyone says things like that, and if they do, it's not worth crying about.
I do somehow still hope that Deontay and his team don't fake another doping test that prevents the fight from happening. If that happens, again, then he once again, still, simply hasn't earned a shot against AJ.

That's a valid point Kalan. Hopefully we see Ortiz rejuvenated against Wilder and at his best.

The first half of your post makes a lot of sense. The second half is bound to bring harsh criticism. We all get frustrated, pissed off, drunk, whatever. I'm no saint myself. I'll focus on your excellent point about so many folks already downplaying Wilder's win over Ortiz......just in case he gets it. Guess what? If they didn't, they couldn't bash him so much, or if they did would look stupid doing it. Some people talk up Parker, and think Jennings would be a good fight. (A guy that Ortiz dominated and stopped).

There is always lots of hypocrisy on this board. Joshua went life and death with a 41 yr old guy in his last fight, that looked horrible (HORRIBLE) in the fight before. Joshua got full credit, and then some.....in a fight he should have lost. Joshua didn't want to fight Wilder next, or Ortiz. Wlad turned down a fight with Wilder, as did several others, like Fury (both), Parker, and Martin to name the ones I know of. He is a huge risk to any heavy. I give both guys credit for giving us this fight.

By the way, I try hard to call out anyone to prove I am tougher anymore. Partially because I am getting too long in the tooth, and partially because I know that no matter how tough you are, no one is bullet proof. That is the reality of today's society.
