Unfortunately Hughie's not back until April.
I dunno how bad the cut is but he should jump at it if he could

Oh come on!
Thats hardly a fair fight for Hughie, give him a few years and 1/2 dozen more fights before shoving him in the ring at that level.
Poor guy could get badly hurt at this stage in his career.

I'm sure after what wilder has been through with Povetkin and Ortiz he will want to fight someone who has already failed a drugs test and still to be charged for it

Don't think we see Hughie fight again in the next year unless UKAD clear him.

The UKAD satement last week confirmed nothing has been done about that case. A lot of people just assumed he was doing a silent doping ban when not fighting for 17 months.

My guess is he has been granted a license until the hearing happens. This happened last year when he was apparently going to fight Andy Ruiz and Tyson was rematching wlad. Then Tyson went off the rails and that was all scrapped.

Wilder is way overrated, Hughie is in shape and needs to get paid and also can look after himself so he won't get beat up.
He won't be expected to win so he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. This is a job, he won't get paid anything sitting at home until April.
Parker should take it if offered too. Neither fighter had much taken out of them in the last fight and are already in shape, it's a big payday for a winnable fight, the winner is guaranteed Joshua too.

Guaranteed Joshua? Big deal.

Both have to be pretty high up his shortlist of future opponents anyway.

Neither has to take risky fights to get Joshua. The division stinks.

It is close to stinking Horse. It's about 48 hours dead and the files are starting to lay eggs. It's a real shame, everyone likes the heavies but compared to the depth of other divisions it is starting to pong.

It doesn't help that about half of the top fighters have been done for drugs in the last few years.

No way should Joshua be as picky about fighting drug cheats as Wilder.

He'll run out of decent opponents in about 18 months otherwise.

Theres plenty of opponents for Joshua to pick over in the next 18 months.

Jarrell Miller
Mariusz wach
Andy Ruiz jr
Carlos Takem

And David Haye if he beats Bellew. If Haye comes through the Bellew fight Haye will dog Joshua for a fight next summer at Wembley. It will fill like no other fight its the biggest heavyweight title fight that will ever be held against 2 British fighters. It will sell out so quick.

Theres plenty of fodder for AJ over the next 2 years. All he has to do is keep winning. But expect AJ v Haye next year if he beats Bellew, thats a fact I would think, money talks and this will beat any other all British fight ever.

That list is depressing. Miller will go down like Martin. Wach is 3 years past done and never was. Takem was good for Parker, AJ would kill him. Andy Ruiez is so short he would have to stand on tippie toes just to suckle on AJ's nipple.
Nope. Everyone you mention is not going to be more of a beat down for AJ

everyone is a beatdown for aj. the division blows. your just gunna have a situation like wlad where one guy is way better, though aj has more fan friendly style.

Thats why I classed them as fodder. The only opponent worth note was David Haye for his marketability. I didnt mention any 'contenders' as such as they are all out of action due to one thing or another. There is no one to touch AJ presently in a list of top 20 or 30 heavyweights presently (imo) but David Haye if he beats Bellew is the best option there is to get bums on seats and a bit of action in the ring.

Why? Get out as soon as possible, he never took a beaten, he's already been inactive plenty, time to kick on and gain the experience he lacked going in against Parker, everything about his career so far lacks urgency. he should be looking to get out again before the years out
Agreed.

Why take so long out when you're not injured?

Hughie is still young, but if he doesn't shape up, he risks being forgotten.

If his actual conditions are taken into account , Hughie can be called a one of the today's near-top competitors, but his chances of being a world champion aren't too big. However, he is young and even if his current state doesn't allow to challenge somebody from the very top, still there are marks of a potential.

Ali G? The Ali that just got banned for drugs? Ali Baba?

You'll have to be more specific, mate.

The BBC said both Fury's got a 2 year ban. Hughie hasn't had a two year break like Tyson so when does his ban start?

I've not been keeping up with events regarding the Fury's as it's a complete mess.

He'll probably take 3.5 years off, then return triumphantly against the number 2 contender of Autumn 2021.
