Cant help but feel sorry on Shane if this is true, its unprecedented a trainer losing a stable within a month , you'd think he' been just done for noncing

It's not like he brought them through from amateurs. He's still got Groves.

Groves can't be f*cked to get a proper trainer. He can't take orders from a trainer. Booth had him fight on the run vs Degale and he couldn't handle the stick he got over it, especially since he had beaten DeGale by going toe to toe in the amateurs. He knew Booth would insist on him fighting the same fight vs Froch (and Groves would have won every round for a UD by the way) but he wanted to stand in front of Froch and blast him out so he parted ways. Once he realized Froch was the toughest man in boxing, it was far too late. I don't think he had any respect for Paddy Fitzpatrick either and that was borne out by the way he talked about them after they parted. There is no way someone with the ego Groves has has any respect for a trainer younger than himself. He just wants to do things his way. Booth knew his limitations.

Don't recall groves getting stick for his performance beating degale! He was underdog and fought a great fight.

Against Froch in the first fight it was more inexperience and a bit of ego that caught up with him, not limitations. I'd agree that booth would have communicated the game plan better than paddy and kept George on the rails though.

Groves' dedication to boxing can't be questioned, your post makes him sound like some show pony who can't be arsed. He's become with champ at the 4th attempt. It's gutsy to keep going at it after set backs
