Minimum 1 year. But he could fight in other countries and make a living. He's just blown his chance of ever being champion

Luis Ortiz will never again be considered a world-class heavyweight fighter and he will never be granted an opportunity to challenge for any of the main versions of the world title.
The Cuban will probably receive a ban far exceeding one year... He might still compete again, but he will be considered by genuine fight fans as being irrelevant.

Most likely not at all, he did nothing wrong, he just got the media against him thanks to some American hypejob.

Lifetime from me, he'll never get a fight worth watching. Brilliant move to pay a million to buy out his gbp contract instead of face Ustinov on a ppv undercard.

I think fight still happens against Wilder even if WBC won't sanction it for any title.

Wilder isn't giving up his belt over this. It's not a money fight.marvelous marv wrote:I think fight still happens against Wilder even if WBC won't sanction it for any title.

You do realize no one in America is banging down the doors to see him. He's not a big name fighter except in Alabama.asdfjkl wrote:Most likely not at all, he did nothing wrong, he just got the media against him thanks to some American hypejob.
He does not draw a crowd. He does not get any tv press.
He's basically a non entity in the states.
He has no power in the sport and no real money to speak of. He couldn't fix a fight, or control a drug testing agency if he wanted to.

Probably a year or so, he'll be back before he's 60.

Show me evidence of that, Wilders claims this is some kind of flush medicine, no clue how he knows that, but if you work with drugs all the time, like Wilder, you probably learn such things over time. Last day I saw someone saying Wilder drinks water and should be banned because of it, I thought he was joking, but now I realise it's the ultimate flush substance he's taking all the time.IronFrost wrote:asdfjkl wrote:Most likely not at all, he did nothing wrong, he just got the media against him thanks to some American hypejob.

He already proved he could with Povetkin, who's innocent as we all know. Povetkin is the real WBC champ.tiny_acres wrote:You do realize no one in America is banging down the doors to see him. I know he failed the drug test, but has he been found guilty yet as far as what he disclosed as far as what he was taking prior to the tests? As far as what I read there is no decision yet....dickbelden wrote:for this time ? he was suspended for 8 months the last time he was caught.

They should do the hair follicle test as he suggested, but not do it through VADA.

No need to if he disclosed what meds he was on before the testing began. It sounds like he didn't. Let him fight Povetkin or Briggs...or other juicers.
Re: how long will KING KONG ORTIZ b suspended
He's already been looking old, and lackluster in recent performances so any suspension that's gonna take him away from the ring is gonna be a death sentence to his career pretty much.

What I dont understand, is that if a fighter legitimately has a high blood pressure issue. What doctor on behalf of a state athletic commission is okaying him to compete in combat sports. Shouldn't that be a disqualifying factor?

Ortiz may have not disclosed his condition and medications just because of being afraid to be banned.marvelous marv wrote:What I dont understand, is that if a fighter legitimately has a high blood pressure issue. Who cares he's finished.
Re: how long will KING KONG ORTIZ b suspended
Joe Frazier had high blood pressure and used blood pressure meds regularly... They weren't illegal at the time... If they really wanted to they could save this fight on "inadvertent usage" like they allowed Stiverne and Mayweather.. They excused BOTH -- Mayweather used masking IV's which were illegal.marvelous marv wrote:What I dont understand, is that if a fighter legitimately has a high blood pressure issue. I don't believe Ortiz is going anywhere.. I believe he'll keep fighting until he get a Title shot...even if he's past 40.. He's damned good.

His chances of ever winning a World Title leave with this fight if it doesn't go through.Kalan wrote:Joe Frazier had high blood pressure and used blood pressure meds regularly...
