They can technically order a rematch, but I don't see why they would.. Canelo doesn't want their belt. I believe they are doing this so Charlo doesn't start demanding his mandatory spot.

Also... if and when a rematch gets made, typically the WBC will say they forced the rematch, it wouldn't have happened without them bla bla

:OhYes: Also if you know how much of a cut was the wbc charging GGG from the fight with Canelo ? It's a percent from GGG's PPVs share or his guaranteed purse ??

WBC ordering Canelo to do something? Why would he care?

They will fight, because DLH sees the money, not because WBC "ordered" something.

Exactly why I said, when it does get announced. WBC will jump in and say they forced the rematch, try and take credit.

And they won't make $hit if Canelo wins. Or probably they would make a 'special' Canelo wbc belt with Canelo's face on it.

So Golovkin has been ordered to perform an immediate rematch against Canelo, with Jermall Charlo mandated to face the winner, meaning that he cannot participate in an interim voluntary defence of his WBC title.

However, Alvarez has no interest in capturing the WBC title, so they cannot order purse bids if GBP & K2 take too long to agree the terms of the rematch (if their specified deadlines aren’t met), since the Mexican couldn’t really care less about their belt. K2 & GBP aren’t going to allow the WBC to dictate deadlines and purse split percentages!

I really don’t know what the WBC are trying to achieve by this manoeuvre, because Canelo is not interested in their title. So perhaps this is simply a publicity stunt to convince the masses that they should be credited for making the rematch happen?

Corrupt politics once again in boxing, just to strip people of titles, and award them to undeserving assholes. Too many fornicating organizations in the sport.

Both Canelo and GGG would vacate that trinket.
