Besides you used the key word there "Threatened" to ban you. I didn't ban you, and you got my message, and quit spamming the board with the video. So I'd say that was Mission Accomplished as a mod, and there were no casualties suffered.

All in all I'd say it worked out well.
Mods going around threatening people is not okay.
It wouldn't be ok if I'd threatened to kick his ass or something, no. I told him not to keep posting a video that was spamming the board. Thereby performing my function as a moderator.

I agree with a lot of stuff you say generally, but on this fury thread you sound like a hater, throwing reasonable achievements aside and just basically spewing nonsense imo

Charles Martin wasn't a Heavyweight Champion in my opinion. He was a contender with a belt.

Even so though if you want to count cracker jack box Champions. At least Charles Martin had the balls to step in the ring and defend his title. Tyson Fury didn't.

He held a legitimate recognised title. He’s in the history books as a heavyweight world champion. I don’t like what boxing serves up with 4 belts, it is what it is.

If you’re saying worst unified type of champion then you might be right

Having the balls to defend and get completely cracked open by a genuine top level operator is gutsy in one sense, but it’s not how I rank who the best or worst is. If anything it highlights how bad Martin was

Martin totally sucks balls, but defending your title and losing it makes you more of a Champion than winning your title in a staring contest, and then refusing to fight the rematch because you got too much cocaine up your nose.

Tyson Fury is a disgrace to this sport, and the Heavyweight Championship.

I think the real problem that some folks have with Tyson Fury is that its still a loose-end story, he neither retired nor lost his titles in the usual accepted way and they deplore that he is still talked about by some as a valid contender and active fighter when at this moment he is neither. He is an ex-heavyweight world champ without a boxing licence who is out of shape and enjoying himself.

If it wasn't for social media, mainly twitter, he wouldn't be on most peoples radar at all. The papers would publish the occasional photo of him on the piss with mates or out with his family and he wouldn't be relevant in the way he is right now. His cryptic tweets and religious quotes are winding some people up and maybe he finds that amusing but its harmless stuff.

The fact he has stated that he won't reapply for his BBBC licence rather than announce his retirement (again) suggests that he is perhaps looking at other ways to continue fighting. I don't know the legality of it but Del Chisora boxed Haye without a BBBC licence didn't he? Maybe I'm reading it wrong but if he was going to retire why not say that? Instead he said he's not applying to get his British licence back.

I think you're letting your obvious dislike of Fury affect your judgement on his achievements. I agree he lets himself and the sport down on occasion but his achievement in taking the title shouldn't be dismissed as easily as you dismiss it.

He won the title against a long reigning Heavyweight Champion in the worst fight of all time. The Heavyweight Champion didn't fight, Tyson Fury barely fought. Barely fighting was enough to win the Heavyweight title that night, and he's never fought since all the while becoming a tub of lard, and talking all kinds of foolishness when he could've been defending the Heavyweight crown with honor.

My take on him is he knows he was the luckiest man on Earth to have caught Wlad in the state he was in, and knows he'd be exposed for the sorry fighter he is were he to defend his title, and that's why we've seen no more of him, and the first talk we're hearing of him to comeback is to face a shot old man with asthma.

That pretty well sums up how I feel about the man.

Anthony Joshua smokes him inside 5 rounds...any version of him.

Hell Deontay Wilder would even knock him out.

Wladimir could've too if he'd actually thrown punches.

Harsh but when I looked at Vitalis record again, it's pretty close. As pish as the fight was, beating Wlad is a bigger win than any Vitali had.

See that's where you guys lose me in all this. You guys call his fight with Wlad a fight. It wasn't one.

I've seen 5 year olds have more vicious scraps than that.

funny how so many of furys opponents just decided not to give any effort when they fought him. its almost as if he had something to do with it. hmm, i guess that sounds like a crazy idea though.

but fury is so old news. how many fuccking speculations have there been about his comebacks. sick of hearing about him till hes in the ring next.

Which is a fairly reasonable argument made without personalising the issue and resorting to insults as per previous input.

beating wlad is obviously bigger win than vast majority of hws had. when was last time there was a bigger win than a win over wlad? lewis over holy?

looking at the names on vitalis resume makes me feel obese.

If I personally insult somebody I mean what I say. So I either owe the person an apology or nothing at all. I owe Tyson Fury nothing.

He was a great fighter Tyson. He worked his way up and improved his skills and fitness. Won the title and then... I don't know, stranger things have happened but you'd never have thought we'd seen the last of him in a ring when he was singing to his wife after winning the title.

Which means that your opinion on Fury can't be seen as objective as you let your personal feelings cloud your judgement. Your views on Haye are in a similar territory although you show a little more restraint and objectivity in relation to Haye.

I agree that both of those fighters have brought the sport into disrepute in different ways but resorting to insults like calling people a worthless piece of sh*t is poor form regardless of your attempts to defend it.
