Jeez he wasn't that bad ?!

Agreed it's hard to see him reaching the top, but he's got a Euro title in him, Shirley ?

Looking at their records I would have to agree with that. Cornish has beaten no quality opponents at all, even since the Joshua debacle he has fought only safe opponents with losing records, doubt whether he deserves a shot at the British title at all tbh.
I bet on Sexton when he was the (very slight) outsider.
Seems a sensible bet, but what's worrying me now is.., does anyone know the "medical reason" that Sam pulled out of the first fight ?

Still, if he really is getting only £4k, then it's a not a "pension-fight". Surely suggests Sexton has some ambition to win this and make a bit of money off the potential future fights.

He never impressed me at all really, he scored a lovely KD and did hurt the Peruvian fella to the body a few times but he takes too long to bring his hands back up after throwing, I'm going on all his pro fights in my assessment , he could be manouvered into a European title shot but I'd be surprised if he reaches Euro level abilty wise, I hope I'm wrong though coz he seems a top lad

Landed a jab more than Martin at least, probably enough to get into the Scottish HW Hall of Fame

That's fair enough, but no argument with the two 96-95 cards.

Good atmosphere for a 3rd undercard fight.
Tiffney looks good and sells tickets.

Gary Jacobs is no oil painting! I remember yearrrrrrrs ago Arena did a photo shoot with Gary Jacobs (I think he was in the front cover?) and I believe the Collins brothers???! Great photos....but

How time has passed!

Very impressed with Tiffney, great engine for someone who hadn't been passed 4 rounds, throws the shots in bunches but as Barry Jones pointed out he never smothers, bullied James in there

I think there might be quite a lot of money to be made betting on the winner of this fight against Dave Allen if Allen wins against Thomas for the commonwealth.

One thing I'd say is I thought they looked much closer in height than I expected looking at the face off.

Sexton/Cornish vs Allen for the British and Commonwealth - seems bizarre when there are so many great/promising British heavies around.

Surely Price can get back in the mix ?
I'd like him to get a Lonsdale belt outright - seems a great guy and he guarantees a KO one way or the other. :box:

The main event may well need judges...
