Sexton in with the winner of Gorman/Webb next and loses.
should Allen beat Lenroy Thomas he should face the winner of Joyce/Lewison.
Dubois vs. Cornish next would be fun also.
Some interesting fights to be made...

You'd have to have glass eyes to not be touched by Cornish's interview.

Right man got the result I had Sexton winning 115-113, pretty terrible fight TBH, too much holding and heads came together all the time, Sexton wanted it more, worked the jab better, had success with wild swinging right hands and finished stronger down the stretch, Cornish was poor I thought, he had the power to hurt Sexton and did a couple of times but didn't have the know how to capatalise, his jab was poor, he never threw the right cross which would've brought success, he faded badly and in the end was fighting on heart

The comment about Price being European level, I'd have to slightly disagree. He's been beaten by European level guys, he's half the fighter he was when he beat Sexton.

As for Sexton, I didn't know much about him, hearing him interviewed made me happy for him. As previously said I hope he gets a canny pay day for a fight like Dubois or Allen, or even Joyce! However I'd say most deserving would be Gorman/Webb winner.

Nice to see the British Heavyweight title active.

This has a "matter of time" look about it after R1 - I'll guess Simmons KO6-7

Barclay has got himself a foothold in the fight.
Not winning exactly, he's constantly outworked, but landing flashy, accurate counters.
The stoppage looked a gimme early, but Simmons just plodding forward doing the same thing now.

That was pretty dull.

Hard fought, but pretty much the same thing happened in every round.
Barclay didn't look like he believed he could win, but he got used to the early power and found it easy to always do enough to go the distance.

Lol at Burdis reading out the cards in order rather than going with the highest score first. Took any surprise element of the result away before naming the winner.

I've said it for years, Cornish is poor. Pish poor opposition didn't help him here.

Could easily have had 2 points off for the back of the head stuff and the knees to the bollocks. It was pretty desperate stuff at times.

Great win for Sexton

Despite being off the radar in the last few years he was always a top 5 brit.

Interesting to see what happens next.

Barry Jones hit the nail on the head when he said Cornish would be much more of a force if he used a solid jab and commited to throwing the right hand

Just caught this card on replay.
Good performance from Simmons.
Nice to see the win for Sexton mean so much.

Anyone else disappointed with the performance of Victor Loughlin. He's one of my favourite refs but he let Cornish away with murder
Punches to the back of the head, one blatant. Could definitely have seen a point off for that
Intentional knee to the groin, regardless of the amoubt of contact, should have been punished.
Lot of holding and use of the head, the one area where Sexton was more guilty.

Victor didn't do enough to clamp down on any of this, had the card been a round or 2 closer Loughlin could have had a real effect on the outcome
