My mother, who knew Tom Maxted quite well, says did not live in Jersey City, New Jersey for any of the long years her family knew him. He lived first in Newark, where he first met my grandmother and great grandmother, probably in the 1920s, and then in Ironia, New Jersey, after my mother's family had moved there. He died in a nursing home in Newton, New Jersey.
