Eubank Jr. ?
Eubank Jr. ?
I feel that he is capable to become the genuine champion. What do you think about ?
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
I think you could make a case for him being the dark horse of the tournament. He is unproven at that level though.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Sure will be the biggest test for Yildirim and a tough opponent for Eubank Jr., I hope he is aware that Yildirim is not a fixed target as Abraham is, the turkish is an average-good all-around skill boxer, I won't be surprised if he wins. Expect war.

Re: Eubank Jr. ?
They are each other's toughest opponent to date. Eubank's style should see him pick up rounds, but if Yildirim drags him into a war, he could get the upset and break him late on.
If I was betting, I'd pick Eubank to survive a scare and win something like 9-3 or 8-4. Easily the most interesting of the 168lb quarter finals. Hopefully in for a good scrap.

I think he is.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Eubank jnr has the potential to be a world champion. I’m not convinced he’s a true 168er, but while golovkin is still at his best 168 isn’t as tough.
If he meets groves in the semi of this tournament he’ll be fighting a true 168er, and big one at that, the most skilled opponent he’s faced, great jab, big right. Groves beats him imo

Re: Eubank Jr. ?
After watching that great performance of Callum Smith, I'm pretty sure he'll kick Eubank's a.ss ... Much higher speed, ring intelligence and general skills.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Agreed, Groves is having great recent victories against good boxers and had good career opponents.Ossyrules wrote:Eubank jnr has the potential to be a world champion. I’m not convinced he’s a true 168er, but while golovkin is still at his best 168 isn’t as tough.

youre having a laugh. callum just plodded forward in that one and looked clueless when skoglund jabbed. eubank has much faster hands and callum doesnt know how to move his head at all. really strange that youd think smith is much faster.imaioral wrote:After watching that great performance of Callum Smith, I'm pretty sure he'll kick Eubank's a.ss ... unless you mixed them up

I think I was right opening this post. CEJ has an excellent potential. After Groves, we will know much more about the both fighters (and Carl Froch, too).
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Certainly he looked like the business flattening that Turkish fellah. He seems to be hitting harder.

I was certainly doubtful of his potential but he seems to be improving at a very good pace. Really looking forward to seeing him vs top level guys.

I agree with you, but I don't think he has enough talent to eventually be considered a truly elite fighter.ValMar wrote:I feel that he is capable to become the genuine champion. What do you think about ?
At some point during his career, it seems almost inevitable that he'll capture at least one of the main versions of a world title, but I doubt he'll have a long reign and he won't ever become a pound-for-pounder.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Good fighter. Could be better though.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
Good knockout from Eubank Jr, shame he couldn't have chinned Ahmet Oner while he was at it.
I thought Oner would have learned his lesson years ago and shut his cake hole after the Germans taught him a lesson ringside.

Uh... what? Yildirim was, at best, Eubank's third best opponent.Deleted_Scenes wrote:They are each other's toughest opponent to date.

Easy to say that, in hindsight.Lackeos wrote:Uh... what? Yildirim was, at best, Eubank's third best opponent.Deleted_Scenes wrote:They are each other's toughest opponent to date.
Not counting Saunders, because that was a loss, Yildirim was Jr's toughest opponent on paper. Abraham was shot beyond recognition, and the rest were British level or below. Yildirim is definitely better than the Dmitri Chudinovs Tom Dorans and Spike O'Sullivans of this world.
Re: Eubank Jr. ?
It's easy to say that from any vantage point. Yildirim did nothing. You don't get to be considered better than BJS and Arthur Abraham just by existing.Deleted_Scenes wrote:Easy to say that, in hindsight.Lackeos wrote:Uh... what?
