Is Rigondeaux a better boxer than Lomachenko ?

Post by Evander »

Who's the better boxer ?
There is a two weight class difference between Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux which may play a role when it comes to making weight.
Lomachenko's lack of power somewhat evens the playing field slightly.

Who's the better boxer and who will be the best technician ?

rigo overrated as defensive boxer. even in his own division that brawler japanese who lost to warrington dropped him twice. gets hit more by big shots than ppl would have you belive,

Rigo is getting old, but I think he's still the best, this match is about the, if not the, highest skilled match ever.

The size is likely to be the most prevalent factor that will determine the outcome of the Lomachenko-Rigondeaux bout.

Guillermo Rigondeaux is moving up by two weight divisions to face Vasyl Lomachenko, which is too much of a disadvantage to overcome.

Both men are supremely skilled boxers in their own way, but neither man possesses any clear advantage in this area.

I wonder how he will do going up in weight but I would say I never saw a more skillfull and complete fighter than Lomachenko. He has it all.

Both top class technical boxers but Loma is better, bigger and harder to hit cleanly. I think Loma will stop Rigo in 8.

It's more of what style you like than who is a better boxer. Both are excellent. If size and age weren't a factor, I would very slightly favor Rigo, but we all know Arum made sure Lomo has the advantages.

lol arum cant make them same size, even if they fought at 126. cant make them same age either.

u can bet that this 'master boxer' who apparently doesnt get hit is getting hurt/put on ass again.

Sounds like sitting on the fence but if they were the same size and it was prime vs prime I'd call it a complete 50/50. I think Rigo's excellent defensive footwork would help to take away a lot of the angles that Lomachenko uses to blindside and confuse his opponents. Over the 12 rounds however I think Loma's activity might see him take an 8-4 type decision.

In reality, Loma is much younger, much bigger and should have too much for Rigo. That's not to take anything away from Lomachenko, who I imagine will display skills that would trouble any defensively gifted boxer.

I believe Rigo will nail Loma with left hands early, but since Loma is a lil bigger and can take a shot it won't be enough to slow him down. Unless Loma walks into something big, or gets caught up head hunting, he can outhustle and win. If Rigo is picking him off and slows the pace down, gonna be a long night for Vasyl.

We'll see, neither is better than Crawford. Surprised they sold out the theater at msg already. Maybe they should have put them in the big arena.

Rigo IMO is the more skilled, although not by much. Size difference is too much of a gap for Rigo to overcome. Should still be a good scrap.

Rigo is technically better but he will lose anyway due to size, age and workrate.

When they are both very skilled, size becomes more of a factor. I don't think it's a impossible feat for Rigo, but size will most likely be the biggest deciding factor in this one.

I bet rigo has longer arms, shouldn't be a factor at all.
