It wouldn't be wise for Schaefer to take on Hearn considering fast Eddie has Adam 'the anvil' Smith backing him up :bag:

All nokes aside,Eddie has done an unbelievable job with Anthony Joshua.Yes the fact hes on Sky is a huge part of this and the constant exposure he gets there has undoubtedly helped create the hype around AJ but if you look at all the sponsorship deals not just in this country but abroad aswell and the tv appearances at the right times in the right places the exposure and marketability thats been put in place has neen fantastic to be honest.

Its alright saying my 100 yr old grandmother could have done it with the resources Hearn had available but it requires somebody competent at promoting to lead this.

Im not sure Frank would have done as good of a job with the same resources available.Hearn has a complete understanding of the balance between building a corporate star that huge sponsors will love and understanding the mentality of a young modern audience.
Fwank has already done it, on a much bigger scale worldwide, with Naz.
What did Fwank do with Naz that was so big? His fight against Kelley was a few years before I got in to boxing. I knew it was a fairly big fight.

Naz was huge all over the world, and this was before social media. Everyone wanted a piece of Naz. He had his own PlayStation game, his own record in the charts, fan club, huge endorsements. Millions throughout the Middle East watched his bouts. Not bad for a little Yemeni kid from Sheffield.

I am not a matchroom fan, even cancelled Sky two years ago over the mismatches but am now considering getting it back as they have improved and I can see some decent content, but not quite enough to tempt me all the way.

As for AJ, its all well and good saying he is easy to promote, but they created this machine and matched him right and got the right stuff out in the public domain to a target audience to CREATE that now seemingly easy to promote person.
Took massive risks going to World level after British too. I know Martin in the end ain't the best world champ we've seen, but it stuck him in the spotlight for big fights, and he took a Klitschko fight when many thought he weren't ready.

Also, some of Sky's fight night main events this year have been decent.

Who knew! From what I've seen he had a good deal with HBO ($12m for 6 fights starting with the Kelley fight) but didn't realise he had a PlayStation game or a song (albeit it made 23 in the charts which wouldn't have brought in much cash). Were his PPVs big news on Sky? From what I can find online most of his fights were doing c.100k buys, with the Barrera fight doing 300k buys. Were all of his UK fights sold out?

Do you think Fwank could do the equivalent nowadays given how times have changed? I think the litmus will be how he promotes Frampton.

I really hope Frank and BT are successful but I can't see Frampton being the driving force. He is very popular in Belfast etc but this is a tiny market and he isn't popular at all outside his small home market.

To be fair to Eddie, he really did well with Kell Brook and Carl Froch too. He took them to that "next level" of earning and popularity; something their former promoters were unable to do. Was just because of Sky? I'm not so sure.

I think there are a few more you could add to the list. I'd definitely say Bellew and Crolla have both been promoted well under Hearn. Are there any boxers that stepped back or potentially made less cash from leaving Fwank to joint Hearn (excluding court case losses!!)?!

What % of the U.K. Had access to sky box office, though? Everyone can get it now, even without Sky!

Ironically, didn't Naz turn over with Matchroom but left because he was hidden away on Screensport? He wanted real coverage.

The best comparison between Warren and Hearn is probably Bruno and Joshua's Wembley fights. Similar fighters, both popular (Frank arguably more so) but his title fight at Wembley was a bit of a financial disaster.

Young Fwank was in the ring with Don King and Witherspoon, it was a Duff promotion.

I didn't realise the McCall fight was promoted by Duff. I always remember seeing Frank front row with Nigel Benn going crazy!
