Thurman wants Canelo

Post by Jip »

Thurman is big and could easily make 154, canelo might switch between 160 & 154 depending where the $€£ fights are. Nevertheless i could invision thurman being a succesful middleweight. Texhniquly he can hang with all of them, power surely similar....

At the end both errol and thurman bwill move up....

Thurman has the speed, he would really be lacking in power at 160. Spence will kick his ass at any weight and he'll never see canelo.

Canelo would kick Thurman's ass even if they were the same size I figure. At 160 he'd be outgunned.

Thurman, Porter and Spence can all move up to 154.. but they make 147 easy without issues..

Canelo will not go below 160 I think.. maybe a catchweight of 158? I don't know.. Thurman has speed and technique on his side always..

Maybe if there is a real big money fight. Aside from that i think stays at midd..although he lost he still looked good at 160. Tremendous chin, good power, woumder how his career will develop at that weight. Win or lose aint that important, entertaining fights > anything and c delivers

Well he doesn't show it.. how many more fights you reckon he'll have at 147 before moving up?

He needs to fight Thurman, Garcia, Porter, Crawford.. i doubt he'll do those back to back..

I think between 147 and 160 the best fights in all of boxing will occur for the next 3 years.

Mmh..he doesnt need to fight all of them, only the best ww in terms of reascent achievemants in thurman and obviously crawford are the 2 opponents he MUST face at 147. No need for danny or porter.

Great fights could've been going down at 154 for the last 2 years they just haven't. Tonight's card at 154 is one of the best I've seen in quite a while in that weight class.

There's definitely oodles of potential good matchups at 147

Thurman vs Spence
Thurman vs Porter 2
Spence vs Porter
Spence vs Danny Garcia

Then Terence Crawford moving up becomes an interesting opponent for any of those guys.

Kell Brook I figure will be moving to 154 where he'd be an interest opponent for anybody there. There's lots of potential there. Who knows how many of those matchups we actually get, but we'll get some of 'em at least. Hopefully the best possible matchups.

Fully aggree.

Spence, crawford, thurman, lubin, lara, charlo bros, canelo, ggg, jacobs, porter, brook, danny, andrade, quadrax.....

Its just crazy the amount of quality in the talent pool 147-160. They could make 1 great match up every 2 month straight for the next 2 years plus

Hard to say with him being a pbc fighter. He's a big dude, but he can probably last another year or two.

Thurman's fight next year is likely a rematch with Porter. Hopefully Spence can be his fight in 2019.

They should, but they're with the pbc and that means they're inactive. Thurman fights once a year.

You're right.

It just highlights how frustrating Thurman's career is.

All WW roads lead to him in reality, yet he's only fighting annually. :witzend:

Canelo has no such ability to "kick" a fighter like Thurman's "ass".
The hype train behind this guy is too much.

Thurman narrowly outpointing Porter and Garcia makes him a monster in your eyes?

I don't ever overhype Canelo. I'm well aware of his limitations. I don't think Thurman would be able to take advantage of them. If anything you're overhyping Thurman.

You didn't say 7-5 or 8-4. You said "kick Thurman's ass".
Canelo has never decisively beaten a top fighter.
And you say regardless of size, he'd easily beat Thurman.

That's such a stupid statement you should suspend yourself for 2 weeks.
You must be on the GBP payroll.

I said Kick Thurman's ass because that's what I meant. He'd kick Thurman's ass. Doesn't matter. It won't take Canelo to whip Thurman's ass. Spence will do it.

Please read. He said "kick Thurman's ass".
Canelo has never clearly beaten a top fighter.

I didn't say who I think would win.
But I'm sure it wouldn't be lopsided in favor of Canelo.
Because he has proven that he is not that good (enough to dominate a top fighter).

He didn't sound like someone that ever wants to see Spence. He was hemming and hawing while Errol was looking at him like food.
