Is Apple and Pears still putting this on PPV?
I'm guessing we are still expected to pay £19.95 aye?
Re: Is Apple and Pears still putting this on PPV?
i imagine its still very lucrative for them to put it on ppv. does the typical person who watches a joshua ppv know who pulev is either?

Exactly. Joshua vs a teletubby would be ppv, the opponent is irrelevant.jamamb wrote:i imagine its still very lucrative for them to put it on ppv. does the typical person who watches a joshua ppv know who pulev is either?

Frustrates me this, want the lad (AJ) to make his £ but this doesn’t sit down well with me if this does 600-700k buys it just proves PPV is here to stay for many yearsOssyrules wrote:Can’t see them pulling the PPV

You will never see AJ in a non ppv fight for many many years to come.

To be honest I think Takam is a better fight than Pulev, he's game as fcuk, at least he'll have a go

It doesn't matter whether AJ fights Takam or whether he fights Michael Sprott in the long awaited rematch, the whole budget of the show including fighter pay and venue hire would be hinging on the PPV buys, the model is already in place so you would never see a PPV dropped to freeview, more likely to see the show cancelled.

Thanks for clearing that up Ed

Yes, this is the future for top level boxing. The 'star' fights anyone and its PPV. And because Joshua is now a star then casual fans looking for something to do with their mates will buy it.
Incidentally this 'fight ' will be over within 5 minutes and although other people might well think the undercard is OK, I personally don't. Whyte v Helenius is two whales slapping flippers at each other in a small pool under the first to reach exhaustion falls down.

It has been this way for absolutely decades. Once again we see a failure to recognise that PPV is actually a perfect way to showcase talent on the basis that loads of people will not pay for Sky/BN/BT but will pay a one off PPV.dalcumly wrote:Yes, this is the future for top level boxing.
