Re: conor vs paulie ?
Since it's never gonna happen what's it matter?
I would have zero interest in this myself. Mayweather vs McGregor was a joke, but at least a somewhat amusing joke. This just sucks, and even me...not being a particularly big MMA fan would much rather see McGregor go back to MMA than to bother fighting guys like Malignaggi in a Boxing ring.
Considering it wouldn't benefit the UFC in any way, shape or form you can bet this is never happening.

The UFC has considered promoting Boxing. I don't see why this would happen because Mcgregor's return to the cage is worth more money, but if it's rumored it would benefit them.gilgamesh wrote:Since it's never gonna happen what's it matter?

Really? That's news to me, but it could definitely lead to interesting things.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:The UFC has considered promoting Boxing. Re: conor vs paulie ?
I honestly thought the circus fights were over, Mayweather-Mcgregor was the biggest fight of the year but in no way the most competitive or meaningful.
After watching the event the undercard was better then the main event, the Thomas Dulorme vs Yordenis Ugas fight was brilliant for example and we saw Badou Jack claim the 'regular' WBA world title but all that's forgotten.
Paulie vs Connor wouldn't sell as much or have as good an undercard, i'd say scrap the idea and everyone moves on happily. Please

If McG intends to stay with boxing he should at least fight someone with a title that he has a realistic chance to beat like a crude brawler masquerading as world champ Jeff Horn.
Conor has AT LEAST as much chance to beat Horn as that Corcoran scrub Horn dug up while bottom-feeding!!

Re: conor vs paulie ?
There's nobody with a title that Conor would have the slightest chance against. Horn would destroy him. Floyd played with Conor. Nobody else would play with him, they'd just beat him up.Best Coast wrote:If McG intends to stay with boxing he should at least fight someone with a title that he has a realistic chance to beat like a crude brawler masquerading as world champ Jeff Horn.

He doesn't have a chance against any boxer at this kind of level.Best Coast wrote:If McG intends to stay with boxing he should at least fight someone with a title that he has a realistic chance to beat like a crude brawler masquerading as world champ Jeff Horn.

He gassed badly in a fight where he got to set the pace for the first few rounds. He simply isn't a boxer, and isn't anywhere near good enough to mix it at this level. Malignaggi would hold some interest because of the 'beef' but he isn't good enough to beat Paulie. He surely won't box again?
Re: conor vs paulie ?
God I hope not
Re: conor vs paulie ?
I think Boxing should be a little more careful with UFC's exposure to the inside happenings of Boxing. The more comfortable the UFC gets in Boxing, the more tempting it will be for them to try come up with a way to grab a share of it. I could definitely see the UFC coming up with a similar boxing model to compete against HBO, SHO, ESPN & PBC. D.White was a boxing fan first and foremost and has been quoted to have interest in seeing boxing cleaned up once and for all.
Actually, that doesn't sound all that bad to me after I think about it.

Re: conor vs paulie ?
The beef was made up by Paulie trying to cash in a payday like McG did with Floyd. The MMA fanboys might want to see it but boxing people don't just like the last joke of a fight.Covfefe wrote:He doesn't have a chance against any boxer at this kind of level.Best Coast wrote:If McG intends to stay with boxing he should at least fight someone with a title that he has a realistic chance to beat like a crude brawler masquerading as world champ Jeff Horn.

I'd be very surprised if they sink this low.
