Hearn: I'd Like Wilder To Fight Whyte - Winner Gets Joshua Shot
Next year, Hearn wants Joshua to fight at least three times with two of those fights being unifications.
The biggest fight for Joshua is a unification with WBC champion Deontay Wilder. (38-0, 37 KOs), who faces Bermane Stiverne on November 4.
But Hearn believes that fight could use a little more sizzle, which is why he wants Wilder to face Dillian Whyte and the winner gets Joshua. Whyte fights Robert Helenius for the WBC silver belt on the Joshua-Takam undercard.
"I think the Wilder fight is one for next summer. I’d like [Wilder] to fight Dillian Whyte. I mean I’ve talked to [Wilder's] guys again today - and the winner fights Josh. [WBO champion Joseph] Parker is a fight we could look at in February or March. But you know we’ve got a WBA mandatory, potentially... I don’t know," Hearn told BS.com's Declan Taylor.
"But I think the main aim is to fight three times next year, and I’d like two of those [fights] to be for additional belts. It doesn’t always work out like that, but the aim is to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world."

I think Hearn is trying to build Wilder's name by fighting Whyte.. Maybe or maybe not.. He's chancing Whyte to beat Wilder, or vice versa to build a bigger fight potentially.. But i'm not sure.. I feel as though AJ and Hearn know that AJ is just not ready to fight Wilder yet.. They claim they're ready, they say it would end within 3 rounds.. But all I see is delays.. They're looking at a Parker fight in early 2018, or a WBA mando.. But not Wilder..
Why the f--k should Wilder fight a challenger in order to fight another champion? It doesn't make sense.. There is definitely more to this picture.

It speaks volumes about Wilder that Whyte is a step up for him.

Makes financial sense for all involved to make this fight as big as possible in an ideal world Joshua/Ortiz Whyte/Chisora Parker/TBA o2 in Feb then Joshua/Parker (if they both win) and Whyte/Chisora winner v Wilder on a card at Wembley summer 2018 then winners face each other in early 2019 for all the belts

It's all good having a plan, just like Hearn probably has too.. But mandatories get in the way.afcmarshall wrote:Makes financial sense for all involved to make this fight as big as possible in an ideal world Joshua/Ortiz Whyte/Chisora Parker/TBA o2 in Feb then Joshua/Parker (if they both win) and Whyte/Chisora winner v Wilder on a card at Wembley summer 2018 then winners face each other in early 2019 for all the belts

Hearn loves a PPV mandatory, easy money, unless you're Boomer, then he'll tell you to give the belt up.Ruthless-RKO wrote:It's all good having a plan, just like Hearn probably has too.. That would be win win for Hearn, if Wilder splatters Whyte it adds massive interest to a potential AJ fight, if Whyte pulls off the upset he has two HW's with the 3 main belts! If Whyte was to win can't see him throwing him In With AJ straight away though.

Whyte is not beating Wilder..Nightmare Roy wrote:That would be win win for Hearn, if Wilder splatters Whyte it adds massive interest to a potential AJ fight, if Whyte pulls off the upset he has two HW's with the 3 main belts! IF and only IF Whyte can pull it off.. Hearn would feed him straight away.. Because Whyte isn't the best HW and he could lose against a hungrier opponent.

Whyte will have a chance at beating wilder, but it is a small chance.
It will be the battle of windmillers if they slug it out.
If Eddie can get wilder to fight whyte he is a miracle worker, whyte is dining out on 1 punch that shook AJ for 2secs before being splatted out.

Makes far more sense for Bellew to fight Haye and earn millions than taking on unheard of dangerous names at CW for comparative pennies.mickey1975 wrote:Hearn loves a PPV mandatory, easy money, unless you're Boomer, then he'll tell you to give the belt up.Ruthless-RKO wrote:It's all good having a plan, just like Hearn probably has too.. Disagree that Whyte is a step up for Wilder. Wilder beat Stiverne, who has two easy wins over Arreola, which is a lot more than Whyte has. In fact one of Whyte's signature wins is over a man being served up as Joe Joyce's debut opponent!
Dillian's CV is basically one good punch, landed in a fight which he ended stretched out on the canvas.

In the grand scheme of things I don't see Arreola as being much more than Chisora.Tuan_Jim wrote:Disagree that Whyte is a step up for Wilder. He's a great promoter. Ideally he gets Joshua/Whyte 2, worst case Wilder gets a win over another british fighter and raises his profile. The biggest thing he wants is options on Deontay in case he ices AJ.

Hearns a dick! Nobody is interested in AJ v Whyte! Get Wilder up next! Pan handling wanker!

Hearn always wants a chance at options. Is Deontay fully contracted to DiBella?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:He's a great promoter. If he chins Wilder which he will, what's he meant to do for the next 10 years though, I can see the Wilder fight being dragged out for at least another year at least.Stuarty30 wrote:Hearns a dick! Nobody is interested in AJ v Whyte! Get Wilder up next! Pan handling wanker!

That's something I've been thinking about for a while mate. The division is so shallow, even fighting twice a year (as most modern day top guys seem to do) he'd still clean up in 24 months if not quicker! Being as young as he is it's hardly ideal!Nightmare Roy wrote:If he chins Wilder which he will, what's he meant to do for the next 10 years though, I can see the Wilder fight being dragged out for at least another year at least.Stuarty30 wrote:Hearns a dick! I know, it's not that he's the next Lewis or Tyson, there is just no depth to the division, I could see the Wilder fight being dragged out for a while to be honest, it would be good for the division if Fury go himself together but I just can't see it.Stuarty30 wrote:That's something I've been thinking about for a while mate. I can see him retiring quite young. Big fat Tyson isn't coming back, (and if he is he'd get annihilated given the state of him) so the hope is someone like Dubois can do something similar to Joshua himself and look like the real deal in 2/3 years, by which time Fury will be forgotten and that becomes a massive fight.Nightmare Roy wrote:If he chins Wilder which he will, what's he meant to do for the next 10 years though, I can see the Wilder fight being dragged out for at least another year at least.Stuarty30 wrote:Hearns a dick! With him out of the picture you have one meaningful 'he might lose' opponent (Wilder) for Joshua and all the rest are going to be realistically walkovers. Plenty would watch but basically nobody is seriously suggesting him losing to Hughie/Parker/Pulev would be anything other than a major upset.

If he's holding the WBA, IBF, WBO and WBC titles. He'll manage maybe 1 voluntary in 2 years.. He'll have mandatory after mandatory with those 4 titles. He might not be fighting exactly who we'd want him to, but he'll be fighting the best ranked fighters in each org.Stuarty30 wrote:That's something I've been thinking about for a while mate. It will kind of be like Wlad's reign.. We'll see him fight mandatories, which is what more or less every defence Wlad made was..
I remember Wlad wanted to fight Stiverne after he won the WBC title, but he was mandated to fight Pulev and WBC didn't allow Stiverne the fight either because he was mandated to fight Wilder.. They decided to not vacate and just fight their mando's instead..
That'll be it though, fighting the number 1 ranked guys in each other back to back, we'll see some sequels, maybe after a few years and some random voluntary's.. Joshua said himself, he expects to lose, he might need to to open up the division again..
I remember when Fury won the titles, vacated his IBF and then had to vacate the WBO and WBA titles.. Everyone was buzzing, the division had gotten better, titles floating around.. But by the sound of a lot of guys on this forum, it's already getting boring again.

Re: Hearn: I'd Like Wilder To Fight Whyte - Winner Gets Joshua Shot
Whyte, Klitschko, Ortiz, Parker, a win within 7 rounds against Breazeale, would all be good reasons for AJ to fight Wilder, but sadly, Wilder doesn't dare such things.
