Kell Brook: Pick his opponent!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

He's looking to return early 2018 at 154 pounds... There hasn't really been any names mentioned apart from Miguel Cotto..

Let's play a game.

Serious questions..

Who should Brook fight in his first fight at 154 pounds?

Who do you think he will fight?

Who do you want him to fight next?

Realistically, how likely is he to win a world title at 154, and when?

Looking at the current world champions, non look like they're about to move up anytime soon, do you see Brook unifying the division?

I've added a poll.. It's unfortunate there aren't really any decent Brit 154'ers apart from Smith and Williams..

Cotto offers the biggest financial incentive by a mile, which is why they have mentioned him.

Frank is lining the winner of Smith/Williams for the mandatory WBO slot, if Eddie can get Cotto to give Brook a voluntary before the mandatory is called it would be a big win for matchroom.

It looks like they are teasing Charlo vs Hurd for a unification.
And Lara is difficult to look good against.

It will either be Cotto, or someone else in the WBO rankings in the hope of either Cotto or the vacant title.

Of those listed, John Jackson, Tony Harrison or Michel Soro sound alright by me.

After all the time out for Khan, I would expect a warm up first.
As far as styles make fights, Trout Khan would be a treat to watch.

He can't be the smaller man, he needs to fight some at 147 and someone that won't be expected to balloon up come fight night.

I enjoyed the first 4-5 rounds of Trout Hurd last week, and thought at the time Trout and Khan would be a good watch. Trout had good skills and not much power. Then faded. I thought Khan would get tested and it would be a good watch

Yeah. I'd picked him to beat Hurd, but I figure the way he lost that Hurd fight will take a large portion of whatever he had left out of him.

Trout would eat Khan and Brook for breaky, Hurd is a monster, if Trout landed those punches on Khan and Brook whatever is left of them would be finished.

Khan and Brook can't fight a bloke like Trout who is much naturally bigger and stronger than them. Especially since the guy has skills himself.
Trout is a big 154lber, Brook is average at the weight and Khan is a 147lber max. Maybe if Brook hadn't been ruined by GGG and Spence he might have a chance, but his eyes wont hack that punishment.

In that case it will be someone in the WBO rankings so he will be in line to go for the vacant title.
