Look at his upper body compared to his legs.

AJ tips the scales at 240+ and its hard to question the legitmacy of a MUSCULAR guy that's 40+ pounds over the Cruiser limit.

I always said pudgy Eddie Chambers could have lost some weight and campaigned more successfully as a CW and still believe that's true.

Joshua's legs might be somewhat underdeveloped compared to his upper body, but at least he's not a fat boy like Chambers. And the fact that he's the best HW in the world right now settles the debate.

I always wondered why some true HW's don't work on their legs. Sure they run etc, but building up some thighs like Jarell Millar's can't hurt can it? He's always first to the buffet :maybe:

enormous cartoonish arms can make legs seem smaller. hes built up his physique but obviously a natural hw, as most 6'6 are.

its the lard asses who arent natural hws. some prob even lhws. ishida moved to hw from mw and looked physiquely better than a lot of hws.

If he isn't I don't know who is. Is this a serious question? If so you need to see your optician/psychiatrist about about a stronger prescription.

Interesting photo.. Joshua is a good sprinter and swimmer.. He enjoys sports other than Boxing. I think it's the fun of competing more than it is the money. Joshua strength trains his entire body -- not just his torso, neck, shoulders, and arms.. And he works hard on his legs as this photo demonstrates.. His legs and thighs are massive -- and proportionate to his upper body.. You can't control the size of your calves without overtraining them -- you have them or you don't.

Boxers who were accused of having massive arms and bird legs were: Ken Norton... Jack Dempsey... Henry Armstrong... Mike Tyson... Gerry Cooney... Earnie Shavers... Deontay Wilder... Doug Jones... I've heard this particular comment for 2 generations... Everyone is always looking to criticize.

 If he's on something, get off it. If he's not on something, get on it.

Either way a change would be an improvement.

Mike Tyson weren’t criticised for having chicken legs. The whole point he like having short shorts was not only was the look more traditional, but he could also show off muscular physique

AJ hasn't got chicken legs, unless you're visually impaired.

Was Nikolay valuev a legit heavyweight? Like, what is this thread even about? Who's even asking this ridiculous question? Have you ever been asked a question so dumb that you started questioning whether you were interpreting it right?

"Is fried chicken even fried?"
"Uh............ yeah. It is. Wait, what are you asking?"

Anthony Joshua is so far beyond being a legit heavyweight in every sense of the word that it is beyond unfathomable why this is a question.

Most all top heavyweights and actually most top boxers have strength trainers and work legs hard. Jumps, weights, plyometrics, anything they can to get stronger and faster. They didn't always. It used to be no weights or strength training at all, just the rope, shadow boxing, the bags, the mitts, sparring, and done. Maybe calisthenics, push-ups and sit-ups. Nothing like today.

Without the weights joshua would still be 230. He's legit. I'd say bowe and Lewis were naturally bigger men, frame wise, but hes a proper big man.

Lewis is the best really big man I've seen fight. He wasn't packing on weight, had good stamina, and huge power. I dont think there's been a bigger puncher with proper balance. The shot he hit rahman with is the biggest punch I've ever seen, up there with marciano and Walcott. For his size marciano must have been the best heavyweight puncher there was.
