What made it worse for me was that afterwards Booth and Haye basically admitted they'd wanted him to work on his jab and get all those rounds under his belt, which was so disrespectful to those paying fans - at least step it up in the second half and go for the stoppage, even if you've purposely cruised the first half and used it as a sparring session.

Booth has been the cause of quite a few stinkers and definitely will be the cause of some future stinkers.

Howard Eastman went through a phase of god awful European title defences too. One against Sergey Tatevosyan who Carl Froch ironed out in a few rounds and one against an American in his next fight (obviously not for the European title.) Two absolute stinking decision wins. I remember Jim Neilly in the commentary box was forced into lauding the way Eastman was touching gloves after every warning for holding (about 6 times a round) and again lauding and going overboard in praising Jerry Elliot for kissing Eastman on the head when the pair of them fell over whilst asphyxiating each other through holding. Come to think of it his fight with Hopkins was god awful to watch too although not on British soil. Strange for a guy who was in some really exciting fights.
