I'm glad Lebedev isn't in the tourney, if the rumours are true he shouldn't be allowed in a boxing ring.
What rumours? Has he got AIDS???
No. Not aids.

On a side note he probably has the best ringwalk outfit in boxing.

I don't think I'll see it Live, but there's a channel here that'll be showing it after the fact.

Only rumour I can see is he is fighting an ex MMA fighter Felix Maldonado next.

Used to like Lebedev buts it's a joke he still has a belt. Gassiev should be unified champion.

Wlod is a fighter I've been aware of for a while but I've watched little of him.
His fight with Chakhkiev was class though.

I'm kinda getting bored too.. How he convinced WBA to not put the title at stake.. For them to lose out on sanctioning fees? It's stupid.

Then he decides to fight Flanagan..

I do hope WBA order the him to fight the winner of the WBSS.

Top drawer finish from Gassiev, he stalked Woldarczyk for the 1st couple of rounds getting off some nice uppercuts but the end came out of nowhere really, doubling up the left hook to head and body, Wlodarczyk was never gonna make it up even if they counted to 30, the bodyshot especially was a sickener of a punch, great win for Gassiev and that sends out a statement, Wlodarczyk might be getting on a bit but he'd never been stopped

This turned out way too one sided.

Can't wait for Gassiev v Dorticos. That's going to be explosive. :bag: :bag:

Very good body shot! It was a body shot that floored Lebedev too.. looks like Gassiev will be in the final.. likely against Usyk..

Gassiev may be the deluxe version but he still strikes me as basically your classic EE stalker-puncher, decent hand speed/power/offensive skill, seems to cut the ring off well. Typically enough I think he could do with moving his head more.

The style match with Usyk is an interesting one, Ushk's got much better footwork and reach than Wlod, so he should be able to spend longer on the outside, getting off first throwing clusters and spinning off. Interesting X factor fight as to whether he can keep that up, id certainly imagine Usyk takes the earlier rounds but I don't think he hurts Gassiev and so Gassiev will be dangerous.

Genuine 50/50?

I think so. I also see Breidis v Usyk and Gassiev v Dorticos as 50/50. Great tourney. I think Breidis can spoil Usyk and land some big shots. Of course I could be well off based on Breidis last fight.

Yeah it seems a great tourney of matchups from this point. As much of a terminator as Gassiev looks, Dorticos has a pretty impressive combination of size, athleticism and power. I really can't see that one lasting the distance
somehow?

I think Usyk too cute for Breidis but like you say you'd have to back Breidis trying to throw him out of his Rahman, literally and metaphorically

anyone of the four could win at this stage. I like Gassiev, very very solid guy. Basically walked through Lebedev, who is a tank. I don’t like Usyk for some reason, maybe the slaps and kinda loose look to him. Dorticos looks nothing special physically but when he gets into a groove throwing hard he is spiteful as fornicate and very accuratel. Breidis blew away Charr with one incredible punch. He’s a dark horse. He could knock out Usyk if he walks him into a trap. If all the divisions were set up like this, then the whole sport would come alive again. Cruiserweight is well and truly on the map now.

More Brits would know of the greatness in the cruiserweight division if only ITV didn't fvck about. Should have had these fights on ITV4 instead of repeats of sh!te like Tango & Cash, or Essex Twats.

Agreed, although I respect Usyk I don’t especially like watching him. His style is kind of like what Audley Harrison should’ve been, had he become really good, and a world beater. That southpaw peppering is unorthodox and makes him difficult to the extreme but not an attractive style.

Ideally Gassiev v Usyk in the final, for sure.

For now, Gassiev v Dorticos should really catch fire.

I've not checked the TV listings, but are ITV puttin on replays of Eubank/Yildrim or Groves/Cox? Thats how you build the semi finals.. and get some repeat if the cruiserweight fights..

WBSS Cruiserweights has been fantastic. Breidis disappointed but he is good fighter..... the Semi Finals are cracking and have build up really well. I am loving this format.

WBSS SuperMiddles not so good, cos there is a genuine case for Ramierez and DeGale being the best 2 in the division and should have had Zeuge there also. Ramierez, DeGale, Groves, Zeuge, C Smith, Eubank Jnr, Benadivez and Andre Dirrell should have been the 8.

My gut is probably not. They don't know the power of boxing, however they're on board for Eubank/Groves and the winner against Smith. If Smith somehow didn't get to the final, ITV will probably feel as if it was a waste. They'll still try and hoy the final on PPv like.

And would have been exposed as a paper champ in the process. His nan would not allow that, so he moved up.
