Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
I think selby would be game to put in the mix too
Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
Featherweight as already stated or welterweight would have the depth to both have a really good competition.

Heavyweight
Just to see the top guys fighting each other
And either 115 or 130 would be marvelous. Though if the WBSS uses more traditional weight classes instead that'd be alright with me. The money at stake would get guys to move up or down a weight class for these Tourneys it would seem. So maybe they could have a Lightweight Tournament that sees all the top names at 130 move up.

I was going to say welter but that heavy line-up would be fantastic if it were possible and that light-middle line-up is none too shabby either.dagilechia wrote:super welter

Light Heavyweight for me.
Ideally you'd have;
1. Kovalev
2. Stevenson
3. Jack
4. Bivol
Getting to choose from;
1. Beterbiev
2. Gvodzyk
3. Barrera
4. Alvarez

Oh yes! That would be a treat. Probably the best chance of getting all those names to compete. Charlos and Stevenson ain't gonna go for this series.klitoris wrote:Super Flyweight

I know rungvisai is a madman but his handlers couldn't let him pick Estrada in the first Rd.klitoris wrote:Super Flyweight

Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
If you followed the way WBSS did the Gassiev Wlod match (and tried for the Callum Smith Dirrell), you'd have Rungvisai Estrada in the first round as they're mandated & fighting next anywaySaadOffTheDeck wrote:I know rungvisai is a madman but his handlers couldn't let him pick Estrada in the first Rd.klitoris wrote:Super Flyweight

Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
Those fights are different, all sanctioning bodies waved mandatories for the tourney's. This is a finals caliber fight, it would look stupid if the #1 picks the #3 for the first round. They'll have fought before the next round anyway.Marlo Stanfield wrote:If you followed the way WBSS did the Gassiev Wlod match (and tried for the Callum Smith Dirrell), you'd have Rungvisai Estrada in the first round as they're mandated & fighting next anywaySaadOffTheDeck wrote:I know rungvisai is a madman but his handlers couldn't let him pick Estrada in the first Rd.klitoris wrote:Super Flyweight

Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
Realistically I think Heavyweight and Welterweight are unlikely. Simply because those guys can make a hell of a lot of money without giving up any control of who/when they fight.
175 and 154 would be really good. Not sure Haymon will give up any control of his fighters though. If he doesn't that rules out most of 154 and Stevenson, Jack, Alvarez etc. from 175.

Re: Pick a weight div for a wbss
Yeah I don't think Super Fly is needed as they always deliver the big fights, that division never ducks eachother (touch wood)SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Isn't it kind of happening anyway?jamamb wrote:for me it has to be super fly
