People aren't that bothered about going to the toilets for a line, they'll just do a 'key' in their seats.
At big events, the security in the stands are terrible. Completely useless. At small hall, it has to be a strong local firm who know the score. Round here, anyway. I've been going to Bateson shows at Elland Road for over 10 years and never seen one incident, and there are plenty of 'heads' there.
The TOWIE boys are just a joke, Crolla attracts a lot of Man United guys, and the Matty Hall fans neither, just a few coachloads of blokes from the pub on a very rough estate. They were wild, like.

I got a coach back that night and there was some coked up fellas on the journey aswell. They were big guys aswell. If it had kicked off, we would have been brown bread lol.

Boxing events don't exactly produce a family friendly environment. I prefer watching on TV to be honest.
Rob McCracken once told me (name dropping here) that the TV was the best seat in the house. The angles, replays etc are miles ahead of being static in one position.

Whilst you can never capture the atmosphere of real fight, a group of friends with a big screen and volume up full is as close as it gets, but much cheaper and no hassle getting home afterwards.

I'd love a big garden, with a big stack of speakers, some booze, food and good friends round - and one of these bad boys with a projector showing it:

That looks perfect lol.
Can we come round to yours ?

It’s unbelievable to me that the Cardiff v Millwall game is still going ahead next Saturday. That match always garners a lot of police presence, which surely means the city centre won’t have as much police coverage as it will need for a huge event like a Joshua fight, where a large percentage of the crowd will be drinking all day.

Good point.

There’s hardly an endless supply of police. Let alone them starting in the morning until after midnight either.

We've sold about 800 tickets so far. Likely only take 1200 max. Cardiff in terms of "off field" activities are finished as they'll admit all on bans etc. Plus anyone whose just going down for football will have been shipped out by 6 so i don't see the issue from a policing point of view. So if they wish to they'll all be available to police the boxing when people are at their most rowdy and the booze and gear is taking a hold.

You can have the only people at the boxing being coked up towie types looking for a fight. As someone else pointed out it generally means empty halls for the undercard and a big scrap before the main event or two. It's sh*t!

I’d have thought Towie types look to get bummed not fight? Are these orange, bejewelled poofters the new scourge?
Few too many WKD’s and safety in numbers can make their bollocks grow. Sober and in small numbers, more grief off a group of brownies.

The TOWIE explosion has been big down my way unfortunately. Gym, get your tan on and lease hire cars...it’s the only way to go ( then back to mum and dads where they all still live! )

It doesn’t help when the security, I won’t name the firm, are more interested in getting their heads on camera or pictures taken with the boxers then actually doing their jobs, just look at some of there Facebook pages, full of stupid posts especially the ring walks, do they think it impresses their friends if they are seen walking out AJ, whopp whopp. and the owner who is involved in some kind of drama at weigh ins.

And please IFL TV stop interviewing them, they are security guards not boxing experts!

If I was Eddie or any other promoter who this company work for, I would be pissed right off that I’m paying these guys to secure my event and all they want to do is pose in front of a camera and why should the promoter pay extra money to take the police off the streets to secure a boxing event.

At the end of the day they are paid to do a job and that job is to secure and protect the crowd, boxers and staff so they need to stop acting like Z list celebrities and earn their money. If they see a fight in another area of the arena even if they are not manning that area where innocent fans are at risk then a team should be deployed to help out, thats their job, thats what they are being paid for to protect the public, hopefully with the issues and incidents that have happened over the last few weeks the promoters and security managers will act now and save our sport, if not us fans will stop buying tickets to watch these events live!!!

what a joke. the security firm could of easily got 10 of their guys to go up there and sling the 4 people causing trouble fighting instead of leaving it to the 20 year old event staff causing fans to miss the 4th round stoppage. luckily no one got stabbed

Just tighten up the security

No need for the gavvers, who's pocket is that going to come out of ?

Some the security guards I've seen at boxing shows don't look capable or there aren't enough. Tighten up security before you go down that route
