Woodstock is far too easy to hit. His punches are wide and his power doesnt really seem that amazing. Fun fight to watch but the hypes a bit strong.
Re: Round-By-Round - Josh Warrington vs. Dennis Ceylan - October 21st 2017
I had rounds 5 and 6 for Poxton, and Round 7 for Woodstock. Poxton does well when they get inside and trade, Woodstock is better when he's able to pick off shots from the outside, but Poxton's giving him hell all the way. Close fight. Could be 4-3 the other way, but I have it for Poxton.
4-3 Poxton
4-3 Poxton

Woodstock's best round. I've got it all level after 7.

Much closer round but thought W edges it because he's keeping his distance better. W 1 up.

Woodstock's come on strong over the last few rounds. I have him ahead now after 9. Final round should be interesting.
5-4 Woodstock

Think Woodstock will get the nod provided he doesn't get knocked out in the last (unlikely). However, to progress he's going to start moving his head. Too easy to hit.
Re: Round-By-Round - Josh Warrington vs. Dennis Ceylan - October 21st 2017
This last round may suit Poxton if Woodstock feels he needs to win the round with volume
Re: Round-By-Round - Josh Warrington vs. Dennis Ceylan - October 21st 2017
I love Poxton's attitude. What is this guy made of? But for me he needs this round big to salvage a draw. Woodstock is taking over.
Re: Round-By-Round - Josh Warrington vs. Dennis Ceylan - October 21st 2017
Woodstock possibly by a couple - great fight, top notch - respect to both, especially Poxton as the underdog
Re: Round-By-Round - Josh Warrington vs. Dennis Ceylan - October 21st 2017
The young man Woodstock came on strong over the last 4 rounds to win the fight. He had hell throughout the fight, but he showed good conditioning to outhustle the tough Craig Paxton down the stretch. Very good fight. Woodstock has a lot of improvements to make, but this will be a good learning experience for him. He showed a lot of fighting heart here, you can't teach that.
96-94 Leon Woodstock is my final score

Woodstock's got it by 3 for me, but there's 5 rounds that could have gone either way so who knows.

Woodstock by 2 rounds. Poxton faded a little and Woodstock used his reach a little better too. I'd not argue with a draw either.
Woodstock is going to struggle against big punchers, he's wide open when throwing those wide shots and hasn't got the power he thinks.

I notice 10-10 rounds seem to be more common in British fights. I have no complaint about that though some of the early rounds in this bout were VERY close.
Right man won I think. Still though Craig Paxton can hold his head up high, he got cut really badly early on, and still gave Leon Woodstock a hell of a tough fight all night.

Yeah, if his management is smart they're gonna dial back the level of competition a bit for his next few fights, and give him time to develop his skills a little more. He is gonna need to make some serious improvements before stepping up the competition.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Woodstock by 2 rounds. Both showed real guts there, Poxton for coming though those big punches and a sea of blood, what heart, and Woodstock because a lot of young fighters would’ve lost heart, throwing all those punches and seeing the other guy keep coming, especially after it looked like it was nearly over in the second round.
I’m not sure if he’s an overrated puncher or poxton just has a great chin ??

A little of both I think. He has decent pop, but hes no knockout artist, no way at top level. He has to use the jab and his feet more, hed be eaten alive fighting that style at top level.MightyWarrior wrote:Both showed real guts there, Poxton for coming though those big punches and a sea of blood, what heart, and Woodstock because a lot of young fighters would’ve lost heart, throwing all those punches and seeing the other guy keep coming, especially after it looked like it was nearly over in the second round.

Yeah think that’s about right.
Surely this fight is 100% going the distance.

Leeds Utd fans must be getting back from Bristol - had enough of them and that familiar chant today
