Cox did okay and took the fight to Groves but to say he had him hurt and troubled is misleading. Groves always looked comfortable and Cox look knackered after the second.

I can't really believe anyone would have had Cox ahead, I thought Groves took the 1st and 3rd pretty comfortable with Cox nicking the 2nd.

As for Cox generally, I don't think there is a single British boxer who has achieved so little with his talents.

How you can try to say that he is a World Class fighter when his best win was for the commonwealth title 6 years ago? His career has been a waste of time.

The people who said he was winning the fight last night, for starters. Fvck knows what they were watching
Hmmmm, the official scorecards at the time of the stoppage including the partially scored round the fight was stopped in, sauerlands, tv, and all others say ringside who are professionals and involved in the sport say Jamie was winning, not just someone with a personal opinion who isn't involved in the sport :TU: so Fvck knows what you was watching
What is a "partially scored" round?

If Cox is getting rounds whilst being countered into near submission, then the Canelo/GGG controversy is definitely having an influence on judging.

Horse, you don't like Jamie personally and that's fine, same as anyone else is entitled to as that's there opinion, but this is a BOXING FORUM, to talk honest and sensible about the sport of boxing, but too many idiots like yourself on here who know absolutely nothing about the sport other than what you watch and think you know. I'll list the FACTS of the fight below for you and any other ignorant, uslesss, unimportant. Irrelevant, lack of real boxing knowledge fools.

1: Jamie got caught with a world class body punch whilst throwing himself, the punch would of folded any heavyweight in the world in half, groves in his own words after said it's probably the best punch he's ever thrown :TU:

2: Jamie was winning the fight against groves (not in my opinion or your opinion) it was official on the judges scorecards including the partially scored round like the rules dictated they must (as I was in the rules meeting with WBA, sauerlands, TV, promoters, officials, YOU WASNT :TU:

3: jamie hurt George on at least 2 occasions not only my opinion who was in the corner not sat at home watching on tv but also the opinion of referee Steve gray who after one of the incident pulled them apart as George was holding on for dear life and felt very unsteady and seemed he been hurt in his opinion :TU:

4: Jamie was unmarked and George was marking up quite badly and starting to breath heavy.

5: George again in his own words not mine or yours, landed very heavy shots on jamies chin, clean and he just walked through them, shots that have knocked any other fighters he's landed them on out, he knew Jamie was strong and fit and tough and knew he had to do something and change it up as Jamie was walking through them head shots, so to his credit he did and found that world class counter body punch which I'll say again in groves own words was probably best punch he had ever thrown :TU:

6: again in groves own words and again I quote, he thinks Jamie is a WORLD CLASS middleweight but felt him being the bigger man and a big super middleweight would be beneficial and pay off and that would win him the fight, but Jamie is "WORLD CLASS"

I could go on all day and quote facts, not my opinion and not your opinion, but I won't, the point I'm trying to make us that you along with others don't like Jamie and that's fine, but you can't take away the facts, and the facts are he was winning a very competitive fight with a genuine world champion and world class fighter, pushing him back, walking through a bigger man who is known puncher shots, landing his own, buzzing him, and giving it a genuine good go and his all until a world class body punch landed clean and ended the fight which would of landed on any fighter and stopped them, so keep your personal negatives be comments to yourself, and use this forum for what it's meant to be used for, to discuss and share boxing points of views and discussions, not spouteing your personal dislike for a fighter and being derogatory with no genuine fact based comments
Horse doesnt like anyone only tyson fury cause he persists on put him in his top 10 british fighters.

Your wasting your time with horse,he knows absolutley everything about boxing and all of us are beneath him,he comes on here and opens his mouth and a load of brown haze pours out with a stench like stagnant water and horse sh!t. We as fans can only go on what we see in the ring rather than all the gym wars stuff and Jamie has so far in his career flattered to deceive for one reason and another.
He might well come back better after this loss.

Hopefully Eddie liked what he saw last night. I know he got stopped but I thought he was decent. One minor mistake which cost him
He can still do good things in boxing,he lost to the WBA champ there is no disgrace in that. He can come again same as bruno, paul smith, martin murray etc

Team Cox need to be realistic. They've done extremely well to get into this tournament and get a payday.

The fact of the matter is he hasn't had a decent win at Super Middle.

Brophy, Fielding,Murray and Ryder have better wins at the weight than Cox.

He needs to go down the British/Commonwealth route and prove he's more than a sparring story hype job.

He was winning after 4 rounds?? It was a 12 round fight.

Using that logic Felix Trinidad was awful as he was usually on the canvas and down on the scorecards until he got warmed up.

Let's get Fielding and Cox made as was the original plan, if Rocky moves up for European then Ryder/Cox for Vacant title.

I thought he was doing alright until that devestaing body shot. I like him, he is entertaining in the ring, has a personality and is improving each fight. Saying he needs to go back to UK level is a bit harsh really. I think he needs to get a better haircut and go stateside and make a name over there.
He is a fan friendly fighter, the mexamericans would love him.
He never even succeeded at UK level.

I'm not too sure that he would win the English title against Darryll Williams.

Cox has not even proven that he's a top 10 domestic super middleweight.

He is vastly overrated.[/quote : You can't be serious Horse, can you ?

Team Horse!

If Paul Smith has better wins than you, you don't deserve to be considered above domestic class. No shame in that, plenty of decent fights for Cox against domestic opposition.

Unfortunately, Cox has spent his whole career telling us all how world class he is rather than proving it in a professional ring.

Have a timeout for fvcksake.

If Cox's best win is for the Commonwealth, then he's at Brophy's level. Let's do that fight! Where's Billy?

although brophy's commonwealth title win was much better. stoppage on road against dunn at 168 vs shambolic, foul filled very questionable win over sai at 154.

Cox was chopped down by a terrific, full-blooded body shot.

But prior to that, he was giving Groves plenty to think about and it was very entertaining.

I'd like to see more of Jamie, albeit down at 160lb if possible.

Interesting side note,
I was just perusing Cox's record and I noticed that he made his debut against Johnny Greaves in what was only Greaves' 3rd fight.

Well, I found it interesting anyway.

For me, Cox didn't beat Odabi Sai. At best it was a draw, but Cox definitely should have been DQ'd. Never seen so many low blows in a fight. He kept doing it, it was ridiculous. On a neutral show he would have been slung out.

He was poor, for me. He didn't land much, wasn't picking his punches very well and stood square in front of Groves, smothering his shots, whenever he threw. Only way he might have beaten Groves is late on, and he was so wide open to counters it was fairly obvious he'd get knocked out halfway through the opening round. Nowhere near good enough.

I think you'll find that Cox was actually winning the fight, had Groves hanging on for dear life and was only stopped by the greatest punch ever thrown that would have crippled any heavyweight out there. These are the facts
