Braemer Vs Brant

Post by Kilsby »

Thoughts? :maybe:

Personally thought that Braemer took the easy way out Vs Cleverly. Braemer's been dipping his toe into the training side of things recently & looks to me like mentally he has already retired.

Cleverly's form guide doesn't look too spectacular either - I thought he had lost "it" after the second Bellew fight with the retiring & un-retiring. If he out hustled Braemer then why shouldn't Brant? :KO:

Saw a few fights of Brant on youtube, he looks like he can hit, only concern was he was a little open with looping punches when he attacks.

Surely this is a phasing out of an old-campaigner & introducing of a potential newcomer kind of fight? :TU:

Think the odds against on Brant the bookies are maybe missing a trick?

Don’t know much about Brant, but he should certainly have enough to beat Braemer at this stage.

Its an interesting fight.... always though Breahmer was a Super Middleweight fighting at Light Heavyweight - remembering he fought Ricky Hatton as an amateur.

He looked good in places vs Cleverly and the more I see the fight, the more I think there was a geniune training camp injury there.

Not seen enough of Brant to make comments, but it is an interesting one - I wouldn't write off Braehmer quite yet. He might be interesting at Super Middleweight, certainly punched harder at this weight.

I am just amazed that Braehmer seems to be convinced he will do the weight, he looked awful at 175 weigh in's he will need holding up at 168 surely.

Hard to know how good Brant is, the Germans will want a German through if they possibly can but interestingly Feigenbutz is the reserve on the night here and I would really not be surprised if he is brought into the fight next week some time.

I just think Brant Vs Smith makes an better semi-final (two unbeaten prospects) it also would keep the interest in the WBSS Stateside :TU:

I actually thought Braemer was beating clev but he kinda checked out the fight. It doesn’t spell good news to drop a division at this stage.

Hopefully Brant beats him

Yeah I'm picking Brant mainly because of the fact that like you said, it's never good news for an aging fighter to drop a weight class.

Brant moving up a weight class is almost certainly gonna be stronger, and feeling better in the ring than Braehmer.

Braehmer moving down to SMW for this tournament was probably the biggest surprise in WBSS, would be an achievement if he could win a fight let alone the whole thing, last time out he quit against Cleverly and that was a while ago now, I had him just ahead in that fight at the time, I'm assuming the injury was genuine, you do wonder if he has the heart for it now, I don't know anything about Brant or how good he is, he's undefeated but I don't recognise a single name on his record

Could be a step too far for Brant and Braehmer will old man him but I have a feeling Braehmer will retire on his stool again, I doubt Brant will knock him out

Brant looks like he can dig with a single shot rather than an accumulation of blows - this could be telling if Braehmer is feeling drained at the weight.

Also, Brant was a national golden gloves champion so has a decent amateur pedigree

Interesting fight, but it is a bit disappointing that a quarter final in the Super middleweight tournament is actually a light heavyweight vs a middleweight.

There are plenty super middleweights who are more deserving of a slot in this tournament.

Braemher is a very good technical boxer but takes too many rounds off during fights.

I imagine Brandt will look to set a high tempo and force Braemher to tire and quit similar to the Clev fight.

I can't see either man beating Smith in the semis.

Barely a word about the fight full stop from the Braehmer team, still got my doubts him making this weight Brant v Feigenbutz is still my guess but who knows.

Massive price collapse on Brant today!

He's gone from being 11/10 outsider to being around the 8/13 mark at 365 & Betfair.

Very strange

Braehmer just can't do this weight surely, something clearly amiss for the price to go like that today, Brant has not turned into a superstar overnight something going on.

Ñice price! :TU:

I've got an ACCA going that has gone from £580 cash out on Sunday to £715 today without a glove being thrown.

I was being offered £640 at around 3pm. :maybe:

Braehmer is moving down in weight, and is the older fighter.

Brant is moving up in weight, and is the younger fighter.

All signs point to a lopsided Brant victory.
